Bring on Dragon Warrior III. This version is leaps and bounds beyonds Dragon Warrior I.

This is a great game, but like the first you spend a lot of time "grinding" out to level up. This is nowhere near as bad as the first, but toward the end of the game this increases exponentially. The graphics are in line with Destiny of an Emporer or the old Dragon Warrior 1. It is regular NES, so what do you expect. Not bad for the late 80's and early 90s regardless. The music is awful. Don't expect a big improvement from DW1 in this regards. In all other aspects, the game is great. It builds on the story of DW1 and goes 100 years into the future. In this version you'll find yourself fighting in Alefgard as well as across the world as you'll have a ship to circumnavigate the globe in. While you fought dragons beginning in level 8 in DW1, you won't find them until well into the game on this one.
The game is a little long, but I still enjoyed it. I will be looking for Dragon Warrior III in the near future.
