This game is nothing I expected ( I've got a good reason, read this)!!

User Rating: 4 | Dragon Ball Z: Sagas GC
The good: cut-scenes from dragonballz. That's what I like.

The bad: grapics was really bad, you can only do 2 ki moves. the game was too short, camara angle was bad, ki and punch moves was bad too.

This game is nothing at all that I expected. First of all, I read a review that said you can "explore the heavens above", which means that you can explore different places. Well, you can't. You are automatically placed in a small, short level that you must follow. Some people say it is cool to fly. I call it hovering. You can only "fly" a couple feet off the ground, and I only use it to backtrack, which you WILL do often if you want coins or capsules. The levels are very short, and most of them will take you way less than ten minutes to compete,if that. About half of the levels that you play (theres only 20 short levels), all you'll have to do is fight a brain-dead boss, or mini-boss. Before every level, and sometimes after, an anime cut-scene from the TV show will play. If you are new to the whole Dragon Ball story, like I am, then you will have no idea what is going on. By the way, if you think I did'nt like the game just because I am new to Dragon Ball Z, then you're wrong. I have played many Dragon Ball Z games, even though I haven't seen too many episodes of it. So do not think I am just a DBZ-hater. I'm not. Anyway, back to the review. The game will try to summerize a whole season of episodes in a twenty to thirty second anime cut-scene. Nuh-uh. Doesn't cut it.
I think the fighting is pretty boring. You punch and kick by pessing the 'B' or 'Y' button. All you can do at the beginning of the game is either press 'Y' four times or press 'B' four times. You can buy upgrades to do more complex combos, but their not much stronger or cooler. A big let-down is the Ki attacks. Each character gets two Ki attacks. There's the basic Ki blast (weak, it takes five to ten of these to kill an enemy at the beginning of the game), and there's the special attack (kamehameha, galick gun,etc.). If you played DBZ Budokai before, then the fighting in this game will make you so depressed, that you'll stay in bed for a week crying and eating gallons of ice cream.
Also,if you've played DBZ Budokai before, then when you see the poor graphics in this game, you'll be on the news because you're about to jump off the Empire State Building. It is THAT bad. You can only destroy small rocks, bushes, and small boulers. That is it. You can kick in enemy and make him go flying into a boulder, and thats cool, but that only happens when you're near a boulder and you pull of a stupid combo that costs lots and lots of coins to buy.
You can turn super-sayain, which is cool, but not THAT cool. Your not really that much stronger and I only like to be super-sayain because it makes you look cool. Also, when you're fighting Bosses like Frieza and Perfect Cell, the only way you can hurt them is by being super-sayain. You can only go up to super-sayain level 1, except Gohan, who at the very end of the game ascends to super-sayain level two for the last battle, which you'll fight.
In Sagas mode (A.K.A. Story mode), you get to play as Goku,Gohan,Vegeta,Trunks, and Piccolo. You only play Piccolo for one short level.
When you finally beat the game (that is, if you aren't too depressed or haven't jumped off the Empire State Building), you unlock the pendulum room. Yeah!!! Oops, I was thinking of a different game. What I mean to say is, BOO!!! All the pendulum room is,is a mode where you can replay any chapter with any character. Including some new ones. They are: Broly,Bardock,Krillin,Yamcha, and Tien. The only one worth playing is Broly. He is extremely strong. I played him and defeated Frieza in about ten seconds, when it normally takes you like five to ten minutes. That was fun for about five to ten minutes. I am bored with the game now and I am going to take it back next time I'm at EB games.
I think the game is a lot more fun on Co-op mode. Except since the camera angles suck, if you move too far away from your team-mate, you and your team-mate will get stuck and cannot move for twenty seconds or so, leaving both of you vulnerable to get the bajesus beaten out of you.
After you beat the game, you WILL get bored and stop playing it within a couple of days. You will then take it back unless you're going to use it to collect dust. No, people, I'm not psycic, I just know that you will get bored of it after you beat it.
I think that when atari made this game they said: "Hey,don't spend time and money on this game,we can make it as crappy as we want and DBZ fans will still by it. We did buy it, but it won't happen again. Or the makers of this game got tired of making this game and said: "Screw it, this is good enough. Who wants to get a pizza?" I still can not believe that we have so much technology and we have told game makers over and over what we want in a game, and Atari still makes a dull game. I think that Atari was sleeping when we said that. No offense atari.
Even though atari made a bad DBZ game doesn't mean the others are bad. Legacy of Goku 1 and 2 are good, and the Budokai games are good too. Even though out of these 5000 characters I've typed so far all dissed this game, this game may be fun for you if you are a DBZ fan. Maybe. I thought the game went from lame, okay, boring, fun, lame, fun,to I am taking this back. In that order. I thought the game was okay until I beat it. Then it got so boring I watched a boring movie and found that it was more exciting the Dragon Ball Z Sagas game.
In my opinion, I think forty to fifty dollars is too much to spend on this game, but if they lowered the price to twenty or thirty dollars, then It might be worth it. I am only sixteen years old. . It is the complete opposite. If you are a DBZ fan, and you have some cash in the spare-money-to-buy-crap-with jar, then go ahead in buy this game. I am not going to give this game a complete zero because I did enjoy this game a little.
This game had a whole lot of potential, I'm just sad to see that it lies sleeping deep within the game, and has not been unleashed. If atari makes a sequel to this game, I hope with every fiber of my being that it will be better than this dissapointment of a game.
P.S.: If you DO choose to buy this game, then buy it at EB Games or Gamestop. The prices are cheap, and they're awesome or just rent it.

Gameplay: The fighting is stupid and boring and the Ki attack visuals almost made me cry.

Graphics: If you have played Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1-3 and you liked those graphics, or if you're looking for a realistic- you'll be dissapointed.Would be fun to play blind. Although, the anime cutscenes rock!!

Sound: The music is repulsive and I can't stand listening to Goku say KA...ME...HA..ME...HAAA! over and over and over again. The character voice-overs are very good which makes the sound much better.

Value: This game is not that good.
