While you won't do much here that you haven't done before, this game is a lot of fun. The game is very short, though!

The combat can also be fun, but it also isn't anything very new. The combat is mostly gun battles with a lock-on function, so it probably won't be anything you haven't done before. The battles are rather well balanced, but it would have been nice if there was more variety than locking on to the nearest guy and circle strafing until everyone is dead.
There are other activities in the game as well. There are some mediocre motorcycle segments that feel a lot like the chariot segments in POP: The Two Thrones. You race along a path as you continously shoot at enemies on motorcycles. The combat here is brainless (as you just lock-on and hold down the fire button) and the motorcycle doesn't handle well. The game does have some entertaining bosses as well, which are well balanced and offer a good variety.
The game looks and sounds great. The visuals are solid, the voice acting is quite well done, and the music is pretty good. The one problem with this game is that it is VERY short. Having played my share of platformers and action games, I beat the game in less than six and a half hours. There are some bonus items that could be collected in the levels that I didn't find, and there is also a mode to explore Lara's mansion for those interested, but less than seven hours is a big letdown.
If you want something like you've never seen before, you won't find it here. The gameplay is very fun at times, but it feels derivative the majority of the time. I had a blast playing it, but it feels too short with not enough replay value to justify its full price. This game would make a fantastic rental, as it is very easy to beat in a weekend. I'm looking forward to where this series goes.
