Final Fantasy V is a game that does possess weak storyline but superb graphics, gameplay and a replay value.

Expectations were high knowing that FFV was originally a weak link between two solid games(FFIV and FFVI). And I can say happily that FFV did stand upto nearly almost all of the expectations. You can say from the first moment that the devilishly talented designers at Square have undoubtedly created the stunningly visualistic game on GBA yet. FFIV stood nowhere near it's graphics. However it was disappointing that the storyline is real weak when you compare to games like FFIV,FFVIII which have offered some of the best storylines in the gaming world.
Bartz, a young adventurer, Lenna, the princess of Tycoon, Galuf,an old man who forgets who he is and Faris, a pirate.
The story revolves around these four characters and some others. The thing that really falls down that it really moves very slowly from start to end.
Another thing is that the classes system where you can become various classes(Knight,Berserker,Time,Black,Blue,White,Red Mages, Monk, Thief, Berserker, Summoner) becomes rather confusing and long winded later on.
The reason is that the temptation to master many classes takes over you and at the end you find yourself quite frustratingly gaining AP(Ability Points).
Also the characters and the script tries to FORCE us to smile or chuckle by giving blank to poor jokes. Humour was never needed in this game.
Music was of Nobuo Uematsu and few can compare his style till date. The melodies seem to waft around and even a few humour-filled tunes fill up for the humour-less jokes.
At the end of the day, Final Fantasy V Advance is a great game though expect it nowhere near FFIV as it's storyline is thoroughly disappointing according to FF standards. Graphics, Sound, and a good new gameplay style are the factors that make this game a must buy for an FF fan who has even played the original.
