Looks great, sounds great, plays horrible. Budokai 3 was a beautiful diamond compared to this garbage.
They took out characters such as the Saibamen, Cell Jr. and some others I can't remember which make no sense at all, an expansion doesn't remove, it ADDS and refines.
The graphics are really good, they added more alternate costumes but they overdid it a bit in my opinion, but whatever it's so minor it doesn't even matter.
The story should be always 1v1 fighting in DBZ games, that is what these games are at their core. FIGHTING. I didn't pay 30 bucks for a DBZ game to just play minigames and tap buttons. The story mode also took out the in-depth flying adventure that Budokai 3 had and instead gave us a watered down story where you only play as Goku, Piccolo and a few other Z fighters. In Budokai 3 you could play as any Z fighter and play their path in the story from their point of view, now it's just Goku's path in the story.
In fact many events in the story never even took place in the show, such as Trunks and Vegeta sparring with each other in the time chamber. Trunks and Vegeta never even talked to each other in the time chamber let alone train together. Vegeta solo'd it, and they emphasized that so many times in the show. Also I failed to see the episode when Goku collected rings in a massive grass area to save Gohan. I swear these people have an unhealthy obsession with ring collecting.
The old classic combos have been removed and replaced with brainless, less in-depth combos that water down the fighting so much and the HP bars drain so slowly making battles last FOREVER. Except your bar drops at a fast rate, only your enemies lasts forever making it very unfair. Did I also mention this game is so agonizingly hard and virtually unbeatable?
All in all, a disgrace to the Budokai series and I don't even associate this with Budokai, I don't put it in my Budokai pile of games, it sits on it's own.
