Tenkaichi came with a lot of new improvements and modes but it all seems a bit repetitive

User Rating: 8.5 | Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi PS2
The new generation of Dragon Ball games has finally come with the new Budokai series game, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi! With the new way to explore during battle to the amazing number of characters Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi makes you feel like there's nothing else we could expect. When you power up you PS2 the game presents you an amazing introduction movie followed by a really big main menu. You'll most likely get amazed by the number of modes that this game has. Let's start by the Adventure mode also known as Z Battle Gate. Here you'll find all the Dragon Ball Z sagas along with other ones added to the series (such as the ones from the movies or Dragon Ball GT). Allthough you have lot of battes ahead it gets a bit repetitive even with the annoying diverse battle rules. Playing this mode you are able to unlock most of the characters as well some capsules that will help improve your characters stats. As always it also Includes the Duel mode including Multyplayer, vs. Com and the assist mode (Com vs. Com). Here you can put your skills up to any character unlocked and you will most likely get annoyed after a couple of minutes. After that we get a mode that allows you to play against all of the 100 characters. By defeating a character you get 1 step up on the rank untill you finally get to number 1. Allthough it seems very cool and fresh, it gets really repetitive. As always you can find the Practice menu where you can fight to a paralysed oponent or get throught the tutorial. Along side you'll have the Options menu where you can change you game settings.

Good: Graphics improvements, great gameplay, a bunch of diferent modes and 100 different characters.

Bad: Most of the annoying sound, repetitive gameplay, final moves, etc. and annoying battle rules.

Conclusion: This game is not disapointing at all. It is actually one of the best Dragon Ball games offering the a lot of improvements, fun modes and a very complete story mode. But even with the big number of modes, and characters it all gets repetitive not giving you much reasons to want to complete the game 100%. Final opinion: YOu can buy this game but try renting it first to see if you really like it or if you'llget annoyed after a couple of hours.
