Fast-paced and furious Ki blasts. What could any fan ask for more?
The controls have been somewhat revamped from the second Budokai, and ultimate moves have been much easier to pull off. Of course, this is both bad and good, especially in multiplayer where opponents are likely to spam Kamehameha.
However, the greatest addition to the Budokai series here was the revamp of story mode. Gone is the horrible "board game" take the second game went after. In fact, the story mode for 3 is rather enjoyable, albeit short.
Yet again, the bulk of the time in this game is spent in multiplayer, and for fans it will be a truly satisfying experience to beat up on familiar characters and destroy planets with oversized energy beams.
Bottom line, the story mode is made much better, but other than that and a minor graphics update, there is not too much difference between this game and previous installments. However, if you're looking for a starting point into the DBZ game world, this is as good as any and better than some.
