"people who combo-cancel aren't much better because the enemy is locked in place and can't do anything about it. It's comparable to spawn locking in CoD."
--Lulz. They may be equally annoying if you can't counter either but the CoD one is just a stupid oversight by the developers, not an actual game mechanic like cancelling.

@Arthur Those ki boosting moves in BT3 are limited by Blast Stocks. And (at least for the Wii version) z-counters and vanishes seem to have a cool-down time if you botch one. Something like 2-3 sec. Spamming is obnoxious, especially the rushes. But a player needs to back-flip out of range before he can do one, and can be punched out of it before it activates.

AoE types of attacks such as Gohan's Explosive Madan and Super Explosive Wave are quite difficult to vanish out of completely, but can be done. Explosive Madan can be dodged easily if you just choose the direction you want to vanish.

But doesn't the first jab have a ridiculously high knockback effect?

Not really canceled on the first hit it stuns on the ground and in juggles you can combo off the chain into it

First off, there is ways to counter that, TELEPORT COUNTER.
And Second, every game have a difficult-but-reward attack, and cancelling is not a exception. DMs is easy and powerful to make, but they just have a huge cooldown and makes it unusable, like "High-risk High Reward" kind of attacks.

But Ki ups customs fix that, and for Gohan, he have energy recharge, which recovers his whole ki at 1 blast stock.

@Arthur Customs fix everything, lol. Many of the items however have slowed Blast Stock recovery effects as a penalty for using them, an exception being Launch's Support.

I'm a little surprised at why Gohan doesn't have a ki charge penalty after using that B1 move, but there also isn't really a point for him to use it since he's naturally one of the faster chargers. But still, it should probably be worth 2 Blast Stocks.

Is because the effect is nerfed compared to "Full power" or "Power up to the very limit". It only recovers the Ki back, without making him at MAX power. And it is broken, with only 1 blast stock cost.

Gohan SSj(Adult) B2 attacks clearly shows that he is for spammy sides.

    1. Energy Barrage Volley = Broken in BT2, below-average on BT3. This attack don't worth much unless the opponent is weakened and you want the hits, not the damage.

2.Masenko Cannon = now thats broken. Just see.

Masenko Cannon,Masenko Cannon,B1 recharge, Masenko Cannon and Masenko Cannon...etc etc etc.

The energy volleys in BT2 were broken mainly because they could turn at almost 90* on a dime to hit you and did an upwards of 8000 damage, but at the same time the vanishing windows were much larger.

I've had Gohan and ssj Gohan use the Masenko Cannon on me and haven't had much trouble dodging it. At point blank however, you'll probably need to hold the block button either during the movie clip or right as he's backflipping because the attack will spawn on you. Once you vanish it though, it normally places you outside the blast radius without need of multiple vanishes, at least in my experience.

I agree with you that that B1 is is too inexpensive and Gohan can easily become a spam friendly character. I've tested this and was able to use about three B1/Masenko Cannons in a fight without manually charging.
