User Rating: 9 | Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 PS3
The Good:Nice cel shaded character models and decent environments. Incredibly intense action. Lots of content. Galaxy mode offers a decent challenge. Interesting Half hour DBZ movie.

The Bad:Environments can look bland and low res. Pron to button mashing. Frustrating camera. Confusing controls. Some characters lack variety.Barely anyone online.

Dragon ball raging blast was one of my favorite fighting games on the xbox360 and Playstation 3. It had great fighting and lots of content. Raging blast 2 is quite the same. But the core combat is still exciting and many other great things to boot.

The main mode is galaxy. Here you choose one of the 90 characters and go through his or her list of matches (which are based on fights from the show.)While theres quite abit of repetitiveness here, The combat is incredibly deep and intense. I never found the combat to be dull at all, as the intensity of up close and personnal punching and kicking and the flashy finishers never get old.Just dont expect to get a good description of the story, as this is a DBZ game after all. (rent a boxset or something. or watch DBZ kai its the same thing)Galaxy mode will challenge you as you get further so this mode will challenge you.

Though while the combat is great (yes you get it already!)the controls are still incredibly confusing, espicialy from the long break from playing raging blast 1 on the 360/PS3.As alot of this stuff is moderatly tough to pull off unless you know the controls. At times id mess up a simple push back attack do to the complexness of the controls. But stick with it and 3 to 4 matches later and your pulling off combos, ultimate finishers, counter attacks, and transformations with ease. But then things do get easy (The "hard" battle with cooler only took me my third try after finally learning how to play.)and most of the time your kinda mashing on the square or traingle button.but thankfully the difficulty is challenging enough to overcome this. Also the character variety could be better. While there is 90 of em, youll notice that some of them play exactly the same as another with only some minor changes (names, animation etc.)For example, in my battle of Cell jrs versus the saibamen, i noticed their combos and some of there finisher where the same.

Despite this (ill say it again) The combat is awesome.

The graphics are Good for the most part. Goku and the others are highly detailed and animate well. The lighting is done well and finishers (like the kamahamaha!)are incredibly flashy. The environments are o.k But they often look bland and low res. Espicialy when you defeat someone with debris around them . The camera zooms into the character (often clipping through the debris) revealing the low resness of the environments, then puts the next character. So yeah i could of done with some better environments, but atleast the framerate runs Smooth nomatter what goes onscreen.

Theres tons of videos, images, and others to collect.(lots of fan service otherwords.) Heck they even tossed in a japan only half hour movie thats about a new enemy (watching the movie unlocks him by the way.)Then theres the tournament we know and love. Then theres online play. While Raging blast offerd a good chunk of people to play against online, hardly anyone is playing raging blast 2 online. Its a shame because that was one highlight of the original.

So there is some snags in Raging blast 2 but that doesnt stop it from being incredibly fun, and since its also packed with tons of extra content, more reasons to explore the game mode galaxy. So ill say what i said for the original. Dragon ball raging blast 2 is a raging success.
