Dragon Ball: Origins is an amazing game!

User Rating: 9.5 | Dragon Ball DS DS
I have seen the graphics on the Dragon Ball Z games for the DS, and they remind me too much of GBA games. Also the way Dragon Ball Z is setup on the DS just seems like too much of a remake of Streetfighter. For those of you who are fans of both Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, and were disappionted with the way the previous Dragon Ball Z games were setup, this is the right game for you! What really got me on Dragon Ball: Origins, was the way it was setup, which was quite similar to The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. In fact Dragon Ball: Origins impresses me just as much as Phantom Hourglass. Sure, using the touch screen for almost everything can get kind of annoying, but you'll eventually get used to it. This game preserves the feel of Dragon Ball, because it tries to stay as much with the original storyline as possible. I would like to get more into detail with this game, but I don't want to spoil the story. However, from watching several videos on Youtube, I know for certain that even if you haven't ever read the manga or seen the anime, you will get hooked by playing this game.

The Positives: Great graphics, the storyline stays very similar to the anime and manga, and good sense of humor, you'll probably laugh at most of the cutscenes.

The Negatives: What really bothers me with Dragon Ball: Origins is with some of the combat modes...Sometimes the game gets confused with what move you want to perform, and it performs a different move. If the game didn't depend so much on the touch screen there wouldn't be this problem, but unfortunately I didn't design this game, so I can't fix it.

The Bottom Line: This game deserves a 9.5 due to its great similarity to the epic original series of Dragon Ball!
