an extreme let down

Unlike the television series the games have never been that good. But with the hype machine that is always attached to anything Dragon Ball related, this game was something of a collectors item. Heck, I don't know why, because there are hundreds of games that are released each year that are better than this game, but eventually cost $20. Not this game. It was possibly released at the very start of DBZ mania in the US. Near the end of 1997 this game introduced itself to the American audience, and about 3 weeks later it disappeared. But still its demand grew and grew. Why I may have a theory. The origins of this game are probably more interesting In 1996 Dragon Ball Z began to air on Fox. Granted it was at noon on Saturday, most people didn't really watch the show. However the rest of the world supported Goku, and was in love with his pure presence. If you were lucky you could catch the show on the Latin networks as well. Well unfortunately DBZ fizzled on fox and was long gone. A few months later a strange but familiar looking character in a blue gee is on a cover of a game called Dragon Ball GT Final Bout. Little did I realize that that was the same Goku. Well, the only place I've ever seen that game was at my local Blockbuster. When I went to go rent the game it was gone, they didn't even carry it. So it may start to sound like I've never played the game.
