Dragon Age: Origins Interview with Ray Muzyka (Xbox 360)

I've been watching gameplay videos from the PC and the 360/PS3 versions, and from what I can tell it appears that the PC version is much more challenging and plays more like Baldurs gate(the pause and play. tactical style) while the console version seems to tend more towards a fast paced Kotor style gameplay.

@candyman7x Go for PC if you have a decent PC, if not go with the 360. The PC has bigger and harder battles, an extra camera view and the free toolset. The toolset means lots of cool free mods, quests, cutscenes, items etc.

Loved mass effect, sounds very much like the engine and the choice system, cool! Bit worried lot of videos lot of hype no real examples of game play...

pasannadeera the combat system in AC was tons of fun but ultimately wasnt very realistic. in real life a group of gaurds wouldnt just stand there and let you kill them off one buy one. theyd rush you and youd die.

I'm going to make a guess that your the sort of person that only likes slashing continuously, using no strategy, the point of DA`s combat system is to let real RPG fans take full control of how your team fights, and how they work together. assassins creeds battle system would ruin this game.

@ pasannadeera you obviously had a different experience with assassins creed to me, i hated the combat system they had. and dragon age has a great combat system based on strategy which i, and many others, cant wait to use.

thiz game looks cool. but combat system looks suck.cant thay make a combat system like assassins creed1 that the most cool combat system in all games

@ ninja_sword7 first its got an average play time of 80 hours, not 100, actually i'll prob play for longer so i'll let that one slide. but on to your second point...im sure everyone wishes it was out in a week, buts release is nov 4(us), i think nov 7 for me in Britain...so long for me to wait for this game, it got set back since this video was made. o and its not going to be oblivion mixed with fable, its like baldurs gate (or a medieval age kotor, if like me you didnt play baldurs gate ) its 'real-time-turn-based-strategy' which is nothing like oblivion or fable.

i think it looks like oblivion crossed with fable e.g consequences, violent extremly long game time(it said to be over 100 hours, with or without sidequest im not sure) and its coming out in 7 days cant wait so awesome

NiteX I totally agree; I think that this is gonna b lyk Oblivion where there's gonna be tons user-made content/mods on pc; the ps3 and the 360 versions won't even hold a candle One problem with oblivion (which I sincerely hope don't happen here) is that it's sooo hard to make a nice-looking face for ur char, and some of the faces in game looks just plain wierd...

Demon's Souls comes out on Oct 6 and then this is just 2 weeks later! This is going to be a great winter for rpg's! I'm still looking forward to Demon's Soul more... but this is a must buy as well.

Where is this demo they speak of? It is hard to listen to this interview and knowing exactly what they are talking about without seeing that said demo. Didn't they use radial menu back in Neverwinter Nights!

Mods for this game on PC are going to be a beast! Can't wait!

I never am one to buy collector's editions or DLC, but with this game I will be doing both. I am actually suprised at the folks who are down on this game. It is going to have combat like Baldur's Gate mixed with KotOR and you can even play it isometric if you wish. It's looking like one of Bioware's absolute finest games as far as I am concerned. My goty right here.

Im glad the question was asked about how the game plays on console because im not too sure my PC can handle it. I have seen the system specs on Dragons Age official website and my pc meets some of the minimum and recommended needs. Id like to buy it for the PC but if not im hoping the controls wont be an issue for the PS3 version of the game, as i have heard of certain gripes about the controls on the 360 version of the game

There are four companies that I don't wait for a review to buy a game just because they are just simply awesome and they never go wrong, Blizzard, Bioware, Valve and Bethesda. Everyone else is all hype, it's sad that JRPG is stuck in the same old gameplay while western RPGs have changed dramatically. Bioware alone is going to be putting out 3 top titles this game, Mass Effect 2 and the very EPIC The Old Republic, where do I buy their stocks!!!!!!!!!

This games looks fantastic. But that makes sense as Bioware are part of that legendary group of developers. Can't wait!

looks meh... i mean, bioware themselves managed to do combat in kotor in which enemies actually blocked... where did that go? it's not cinematic anymore

A game of this depth and quality is what Too Human SHOULD have been!

I really was hoping for co-op play, anyway seems to be an awesome game nevertheless.

this game will be like an aperetizer for my PC ,,im running- -2 video card GTX 295. SLi ...with an intel i7 965 CPU...50 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY CONSOLE...........

I have never played a bioware game that i didn't enjoy. Meaning that any game they make, is a must buy for me.

I just can't help but feel bored when i read about this game. It just looks like such an un-original, been there done that kind of fantasy RPG. I'm not bashing the game though, Iv'e loved every BioWare game in the past and i'm sure this will be a great game in it's own rights.
