Take a look at this interview with Bioware's Mike Laidlaw about Dragon Age: Origins.
oolala
im looking foward to it. And i reckon the fights will be like how KOTOR was on my x box for the consoles
It doesn't get any better then this. RPG of the Year for sure, probably RPG of the decade and one of the best games that will ever be made....until the sequal.
@ Macdaddy0 its not online, its strictly single player, but with the tool kit that has been mentioned im sure i heard that you can share your created maps
bioware is just a godlike gaming company im reading the stolen throne and i cant wait for this epic story. Honestly how can their be to much blood in a medieval game wtf do you expect to happen if you get cut by a sword rainbows and butterflies fly out? i love the realistic sword sorcery build.
@ marz311 They have actually continued to update the community on the mod tool/development kit that I think should ship with the game. You can subscribe to the newsletter concerning it on the Dragon Age website, or just look it up for more information. They have videos of it in-action, as well.
I am very interested in this game. I am a tiny bit skeptical because a lot of these previews just show cinematic shots and cut scenes that could be nothing at all like the actual gameplay. And on another note, man they are really heaping on the random commercials on Gamespot.
I WANT THIS GAME ON PS3 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they release mod tools for this beast on PC you bet i'll be getting that version.
80 hours. Oh F--- yeah!
Dear Bioware, I love you. Please have my babies.
ME 2 PS3 ITS LOOK LIKE ITS HAS A GUD STORY
ima look into this. I might end up buying it. PS3 doesn't seem to have very many epic rpgs. I hope it's online too
Damn that is a lot of blood.... Awesome!
They really exaggerated the blood. They've been watching too many violent movies
I am sure this will be rated down, but isn't the blood and gore a bit over the top, at least if the entire game is like the trailer??? Depth of story and moral choices make "mature" content to me, not spurting blood and partial nudity. For instance, I don't see how the KOTOR games could not be said to have "mature" content and they were rated T. I did play Mass Effect, that was a good game, but not nearly a bloody as this. Anyway, still should be a good game.
this is gona be good but not as good as fallout 3
80+ hrs.... BRING IT ON
Brutal! Cant Wait! At last a game based on the Fantasy i like! ES4O is great but no where near dark enough! this is bloody awesome!
I'm glad this one has a more mature feel than most other RPGs out there. Way to go, BioWare!! :)
WOW! It looks Awesome! BIOWARE ROCKS! To bad I'm not going to be aloud to get the game for an other year when I'm 17 :(. I can't wait!
My jaws dropped during each conversation in Mass Effect. If this is gonnna be in Dragon Age too.......where's the store ?
Even if they deliver half of promised stuff, it's going to be a must buy
Bioware knows what gamers want.
Awesome.
I have a good feeling this game is going to be Epic.
K_M82 Posted May 13, 2009 3:13 am PT man this would still be a great game without all that sex and violence! What's wrong with sex and violence?
wow 80 average play through and 6 different origins thats EPIC
"captaink24 Posted May 14, 2009 2:13 am AEST This game was meant for the PC. I can't see the controls mapping over well at all." well kotor and mass effect both came out on xbox first, the controls for those two worked well didn't they? i guess they would have a similar scheme for dragon age.
Sounds good, but I would have liked some more questions like, "Looks like the PC version is complete and you're working on controls for consoles. How do you think this move has affected the feelings of the PC gaming public towards Bioware and Dragon Age in particular?"
whats with the don johnson t shirt and coat?!? when did game makers start looking like suits on vacation?
This game will truely be epic!!!!
well im getting this game for sure!
80 hrs? i like where this is headed. Bring back the BGII 200+hrs!
This game was meant for the PC. I can't see the controls mapping over well at all.
Looking awsome and a little like the witcher .
6 different starting characters with 80 hours walkthrough time each? This is going to take a while.
man this would still be a great game without all that sex and violence!
IT WILL BE MINE!
lol soft talker. Better than a low talker.
looks like a mass effect, elderscrolls hybrid lol. dont mind that at all
wow looks gory
I like the interview but the interviewer voice is so damn annoying. He's such a soft talker! It drives me nuts listening to him.
Its been a long time since I've hung on every word that is said about a video game and this game looks to be worth it. Please tell me that my years of waiting for a true multi-character rpg is over and that the creators are non other than my favorite gaming company bioware. Hopefully this game is just the beginning of a series of games that will make the Forgotten Realms just that..... forgotten.
He never said 80 hours for just the "main story". But man it's looking like it could be a classic Bioware game in the making.
Can. Not. Wait. And 80 hours for just the main storyline? And with 6 different starts? So thats 480 hours alone in main storyline replayability. Add on everything else... Wow this game might be able to beat my Oblivion playing time which is 200 hours.
80 hours? Holy Crap! That is really hard to believe.
CANT WAIT! keep up the good work bioware
80+ just for storyline completion? wow you have to love BioWare.. I just want a ton of weapons and armor choices, unlike Oblivions set few. This game is going to definitely be worth the wait!
