Dragon Age: Origins Grey Wardens trailer.
Cool trailer
Well I suppose we have all mentioned it because the link we clicked on was categorised as a gameplay video, hence our comments. @ soolkiki - thanks for the pointer will try there.... guess it's dark and boring in Denmark this time of year......
Guys!! This isn't suppose to be gameplay!!!! If you want that, go to youtube and they have 4 episodes on it for E3!! jeez... @ GamerankingsUK You have no idea what you're talking about.
@bartjoe The character creator has been released already via Steam. I don't know if anyone else is offering it, but they should be. I've already built my character for the game. He looks just like me (poor bastard). :)
@Jainist Great call, Captain Obvious.
clearly not a gameplay video
Wow...looks pretty gruesome
this is no gameplay :( but i hope that we can create the main character we use u know like/ changing skin color/hair style/hair color/eyes color/change the face and a lot more... would be pretty awesome don't you guys agree with me... if you do put thumbs up. peace homies
I don't know was that gameplay I dont think so.
WOW!!! Thats some sick gameplay there! I love how you can get so close into the gameplay and actually stab people with your sword who are behind you!!! Lol, who put this in the "gameplay' labeled vids?
LOL "Gameplay". This cinematic in no way resembles the gameplay in Dragon Age:Origins. It worrys me when a game has very littel in game footage so close to release. Fingers crossed it's good though.
so where is the gameplay in that !?
This game looks cool. I want to pre-order it but I'm not sure which platform to get it on.
This video is one of my favorites for this game. The toll of war, and the smell of death... and it isn't over.
@Elhan EA *can* in fact ruin a game by pushing the developer to release a game before it is actually done. Deadlines and all that.
LOL props to gamespot's video categorizing... NOT! I'm looking for some in-game combat, anyone know where I can find?
@Sharpy01: firstly, dragon age is not going to be at all multiplayer, its strictly a single player story. secondly, this isn't the real trailer for the game, this is just a quick cinematic put together to set the mood for the game and get people interested...you can tell its not a real trailer because most of the dragon age trailers have Marilyn Manson's song "this is the new s**t"
blood and gore.. i dont want.
There is no reason this should be put under the category of gameplay. . .
This is not gameplay....The other trailers show that it is a turn based game....looks like its epicness went down the drain.
Some people with decent knowleddge unlike the rest of them which tends to be simple-minded knows the fact this is not a gameplay. Second, it strays far away from the actual gameplay, IT IS just a cinematic trailer as the decapitations aren't even in the actual game. You give me thumbs down, go study or do some reading.
"Hope this combat style will be introduced into the game lol. All the blood and gore too. Sweet!!" Firstly, what kind of dumb gamespot engineer would put this cinematic video in the "gameplay" category? and how can you hope a cinematic trailer like this to be a combat style?
Hope this combat style will be introduced into the game lol. All the blood and gore too. Sweet!!
Alright well it seems you can shield bash. Still, you know what I meant. This game is showcasing insane battles in the videos, even though the real thing is gonna be the same bland KOTOR style.
aeryon i get what you're saying and i agree. game developers (not just bioware) keep on giving us delicious looking pre rendered trailers, but when you actually get to see some gameplay, you can see the entire combat system in a few minutes
what the heck is this?
I couldn't see beheadings or even blood spatter coming from game developers who usually have the enemies die in the same bland position over and over. I for one am tired of these videos that stray so far from the actual gameplay. I would be surprised if a warrior could even bash an enemy with a shield.
the first game i really want since i bougth Baldurs gate 2. *Reserved Collectors Edition* xD
"Well about the trailer, it's quite pointless, as in it doesn't really tell us anything. But I suppose you can look up information on it, but trailers are all about telling you what the game is about in a certain amount of time, not that you should expect people's heads wedged into spears, and that you might have some sword action :L." I get what you're saying, but personally I view this as more of a teaser than a trailer (despite the name of the video). I call it a teaser because, as you say, it doesn't really provide information like a trailer should, but it does make you sit up and go "oooohhh!" which sounds like just about every tease known to man ha ha.
at first I wasnt pumped up from this game, untill I heard its suppose to be Baldur's Gate 2's successor, now I cant wait for it. only 2 more monthes!
"Look. I agree with what others have said about how pathetic it is to bash EA. For instance, I completely agree with what lordofdonkeys said below, and to be honest, take his opinion into account. I mean, so what if some of EA's actions are only to get money out of us etc. We are the people buying the games, making EA one of the most successful publishers in the world. And considering the economical climates, I think their gonna try to boost profits with minimum expenditure, so if they can keep themselves afloat. Then good for them. And plus... I hate it when people think that EA will make games bad, I mean, they aren't the ones actually making the games, the developers are. Eg. Bioware is making this game, not EA. Plus, EA has published some pretty damn good games that lots of people buy, so some people probably contradict themselves when they slander EA's name. So that's my piece done about EA bashing :L... Well about the trailer, it's quite pointless, as in it doesn't really tell us anything. But I suppose you can look up information on it, but trailers are all about telling you what the game is about in a certain amount of time, not that you should expect people's heads wedged into spears, and that you might have some sword action :L." This FTW. Totally correct. I can't stand this anticapitalist whining about companies making games for money, as if they're slaves who ought to just make it for free. If they love what they do they'll make more money, but that is simply what distinguishes an excellent firm from an average one, i.e. one that realizes it must satisfy its consumers to profit and do so well. So people need to stop bashing companies for doing what they're there to do - make money. If you (where "you" = gamers in general, no one in specific) don't like their products DON'T BUY THEM. You have no "right" to games, so in general stop acting like it. It just makes you seem whiny and pathetic, as well as duplicitous (it's ok for you to maximize psychic profit, but not for the firm to do so with respect to monetary profits.) If you honestly believe you're better, accumulate the capital and make games and beat EA at it. And stop buying its games, only providing custom to firms you think are worth it... I enjoyed the video and will probably be buying the game. Saije raises a good point about what the video is meant to convey.
Actually the trailer isn't pointless because it establishes atmosphere. If you'd stop whining and look past the mindless killing you'll understand this trailer says a lot. The blood and gore show that this game is going to be aimed at a mature audience. The overall atmosphere of the trailer portends to a dark theme throughout the game and a more gothic adventure. All in all, the trailer says plenty if you just take the time to look.
looking good, looks abit too much like lord of the rings but that no big thing
I'm looking very forward to Dragon Age, I like BioWare's works too, rather EA is involved or not, which don't concern me much because Bioware isn't going to put there respectable name on a piece of crap. So have faith peeps and keep gaming.
People are complaining about the sound effects in the trailers? really? Face it, if you have enjoyed how any older bioware game plays, you'll probably enjoy their newest creation...Just look at it, and quit finding stupid reasons to b@&$%...
oh and one more thing I downloaded the Medusa tech demo for my BFG Nvidia200 series card and have the 260 not the 280mind u(the monster barely fit in the case BTW)and I have to tell you although it may seem pre-rendered---this card and a beefy machine like mine can run those kinda graffix I think perhaps they really are from the games engine- I noticed that there is a vysnc issue on the vid...could this be game engine?......discusses among yourselves, I have to go beat Crysis still...:0
This game is gonna be great!!!!!....Mass Effect was great-- KOTR1 and 2 both Great....Jade Empire Great......come on this is a team of people with a phenominal track record who genuinely care about crafting good games not just crapping out sequels for cash.... Their motto is that every time they set out to make a game they try to make the best video game of all time.--too bad other developers think all gamers want is sequels with bigger guns----bigger bosses----more characters-----Bioware on the other hand try's to tell better stories---I have NO DOUBT this game is gonna be the RPG to beat in 2009..... Thank you god...thank you for letting Bioware exist....!!
what lame SFX? They are generic screams, and grunts. Its not like they ever go out of style. I hope this game is good, I haven't had much of a reason to use my PC recently.
what's with the lame ass SFX? I heard those ugh's and ouch's in trailers from 1999, for a studio this big and EA behind it, I expected more.
bloody
EA better let BioWare have creative freedom, or else the knight owning those two guys will be me, and the two guys will be unfortunate EA execs!
@mikep09 Electronic Arts is just the publisher here, so if they allow Bioware to do their magic by not rushing the release date then no problemo :) Bioware has a history of making awesome games, so I believe Dragon Age: Origins is going to be great too :-D
Like everyone has said, the teaser is meaningless with all those pre-rendered graphics. It even reminds me of the Oblivion teaser. This similarity bugs me, since so many oblivion fans are sprawling in not knowing this will be a hack-n-slash rpg with very very detailed story-telling, not an action-rpg.
Looking forward to it. It will be one of the best games of '09.
graphics are good but I don't feel like playing as it gives me the sense of viking. The hit feeling isn't strong enough and heroes seem to be a little bit clumsy in fight.
Dont care who makes the game, I just want a decent multi player rpg to come to PS3. What gets on my nerves is when they release a crappy 1 minute 14 sec trailer with no game play and the first 14 secs is Bio/EA logos and the last 14 secs of trailer is the same so out of a 1.14 trailer we actually get to see 44 secs of the trailer and out of that 44 secs we see no game play and some lone warrior fighting undead !!!!! Hardly inspiring. Dont devs and promotions realise that if they actually put something into a trailer we want to see they might get better sales and reviews ??
i agree with others but i have 2 try demo 1st

EA is paying bioware to make this game... EA it's not making it
guys guys this is bioware we r talkin about here, they produce some pretty damn good stuff =) this game will b goooood
