just finished playing Dragon Age Origins. That game is a masterpiece. Six beginnings, different races to pick up, interesting story, deep emotional story, funny and amazing subquests. Wonderfull written dialogues.
Then i quickly intalled dragon age 2. WHAT A F.... Bioware did to this game ? Totall letdown. Confusing controls, low or poor written choices. To begin with this is a ACTION rpg. In Origins you feared darkspawn. I played in hard mode and its not easy. In DA2 everything is a cake walk. You dont kill darkspaw, you explode them. With a swing of a two handed weapon. RIGHT!!!
To me they tried to copy some good aspects of Skyrim and failed miserably.
Bioware was always known for deep rpgs with engrossing writings and story. This story is lame at best.
It passes at the fifth blight (so you feel from the start you are just playing with a B group while the A from origins take the credits. To make things worse the events already happened and you are listening it from a liar dwarf... GRRRR. Is this all Bioware can think of ? Why not set the game where the first game ended. Or start a sixth blight ?
Maps sucks. Poor dialogue options. Books dont have the depth as the first game. Soulless characters. No tactics at battles.
I even bother to play more than 3 hours.
When Bioware really decides to make a good fantasy RPG, PLEASE study the first DA:O and add what thousands of core rpgs players expect and not try to use us as a guinea pigs instead. This installement is just attrocious.
Sadly a horrible game.

Disappointing! Have Bioware learn from Dragon Age Awakening?

While not nearly as good as its predecessor, it is still very much a enjoyable game.
