I just beat Dragon Age Origins 2 days ago and decided it is about time to try Dragon Age 2. I didn't expect a copy of DAO nor did I expect a sequel, My mind was open to about anything.

1st, the story in DA2 is BORING. I don't care one bit for the characters, nor their individual stories. You are some champion traveling along side with some people and you are trapped in a city. I think I have skipped about every conversation there is just to show you how poor the story is. The voice acting is ok, it's just too bad the animation of the characters is really bad, therefore ruining everything. One thing I like in a game is when you can configure your character making him look like yourself. But in DA2., this feature is broken. The screen is just too dark for you to even see was yout character will look like because buddy, it will look different in the game animations than it looks at the setup screen. Not many choices of faces, beards, mustaches...resulting in a character that doesn't even looks like me. Voice for the main character is really bad also. There are no subtitles for the conversations(or they appear really late) and the ''good/bad'' choices you could do in DAO are just not there in DA2, all of this making it hard to feel anything for your own character. story = bad.

The action is very linear. Like I said you are trapped in a city and you have to do many quests before you can leave it. The city is boring and there were no ''woooooooow this is beautiful'' moments. It is plain and the decor is always the same. There seems to be 1000 shops in the city with various useless items. You can't really change the armor or your teammates, which also sucks. The action....yeah the action, what's wrong with this game is that my rogue character fights like a ninja. I mean, this is supposed to be some medieval dragon game, not some ninja game where my characters does backflips and can deliver 20 hits in 2 seconds. There is no realism whatsoever in the combat system. Enemies are always the same also. Character Ai is just ok, as so is the enemies'.

I tried loving this game but I just can't. This was just an excuse to make money after the 1st Dragon age game. They didn't put the same effort in this one. Graphics are a little bit better but they are boring and plain and repetitive. All characters figth as if they were Kung Fu masters. Story is meh. Characters are of no interest. Innovative menu system for DA, which is positive. But everything was dumbed down. This is a rpg that delievers no challenge, this is a rpg for kids. Try it if you want, but if you want substance, get Drragon Age Origins, Fallout3 or The Elder Scrolls.
