Not as good as Origins, but enough to keep me going for 50 or so hours

User Rating: 7 | Dragon Age II PC

Pros:

  • Graphics
  • Improved Combat
  • Cinematography
  • Dramatic moments
  • Voiced protagonist
  • Lip sync
  • Some interesting plot lines
  • Return character cameos

Cons:

  • Can be annoying to run to the world map (fast travel) points
  • Dumb bathrobe at mansion
  • Re-used locations
  • Just about all the faces look alike, so it is difficult to remember characters (several characters from act 1 and 2 appear later, and yeah, I didn’t remember them)
  • Missing some good features of the first game:
    • Customizable companion armor
    • Frequent awesome kill moves
    • Better companions (not that they’re terrible in this one, but they are objectively better in Origins)
    • More frequent and difficult choices
    • Sense of history and overall depth
    • Better armor and weapons

Nitpickey:

  • Dialogue options sometimes aren’t what they seem

Rating:

  • Story ******** 8/10
  • Gameplay ****** 6/10
  • Atmosphere ******* 7/10
  • Overall ******* 7/10
