2 very fun,classic puzzle games.

The 2 games included on this cartridge are great puzzle games and having both of them one one cartridge is great.

Dr Mario is a classic. The objective of this game is remove viruses by joining 3 capsule pieces to them that are the same color as the virus. It might sound simple, but it's quite challenging as the capsule pieces you'll use come in a variety of color patterns and you'll need to think quickly how you can rotate their shapes/color patterns so you can keep the stack of capsule pieces low as well as eliminating the viruses. You can make capsule pieces disappear by linking 4 capsule pieces of the same color together and if the pile of capsule pieces touches the top of the screen, you'll lose.

I remember how I enjoyed playing Dr Mario on the NES and it was a fun and well thought out puzzle game back then and even now I still feel it's charm because of how the viruses are represented by cute, cartoony artistic designs that is typically Japanese and you can see Mario on the screen too.

Puzzle League is very fun and I actually find it to be more fun than Dr Mario even though Dr Mario is a great puzzle game too.In Puzzle league, instead of rotating pieces that fall from the top of the screen like in most over puzzle games, you'll slide blocks horizontally and you'll need to try to make rows of 4 blocks of the same color. When you slide blocks across, blocks that were on top of the blocks that you slid will fall onto a new area of the stack of blocks you're working with.New blocks will appear from underneath the stack of blocks and if the stack of blocks touches the top of the screen, you'll lose.

I found Puzzle League to be stimualting and relaxing because you don't have to worry about changing the shapes of any pieces or have to rely on waiting for certain pieces that you need to appear(unlike with other puzzle games). In puzzle mode, how well you do depends on how you use the pieces you have and not what pieces you receive.

Puzzle League has many modes and has mini modes within those modes. For example, you can play a mode called 'garbage mode' where certain pieces fall down that cannot be moved and you can turn them into normal blocks by making rows of 4 blocks of the same color next to the garbage. You can play against the CPU and everytime the CPU makes rows of the same colored block, garbage will fall on your stack of blocks and vise versa.Or you can try to remove a certain line before the CPU can.

Puzzle league has an nice colorful presentation that has pictures of things that relate to something that looks like boardgames or mathematics related in the background.

Even though this compilation title was released late in the GBA's lifespan,it still could be played on the Nintendo DS and is more fun than numerous NDS and 3DS puzzle games I've played.
