Defines Old School FPS! First good horror FPS! A must have for every old school game enthusiests collection!
- First good horror fps. Best gameplay for it's time and of this style, Wolfenstein 3D was good but, Doom was still better. Story line is there but doesn't really show itself in the game other than the atmosphere and environment.
Atmosphere & Immersion: 9/10
- Atmosphere is out of this world, literally your on mars and your quickly find out that hell is there too! Sometimes puzzles to get keycodes are long but theres always a mutant or minion around the corner.
Graphics/Physics: 10/10
- Best Graphics for its time! Certainly different compaired to current 2008 games but certainly held with great respect to most gamers.
Sound: 8.5/10
- Sound was pretty good, but certainly could have had better music in some parts of the game. Weapon and creature sounds are great!
Bugs, Stability & Performance: 9.5/10
- Outstanding stability and performance. If only they hadn't originally made it on DOS, oh wait thats all they had! lol jk.
Replay value: 9/10
- This game is great fun to do speedruns on and typically quite easy depending on difficulty.
Value for money: 10/10
- If you can find an original for sell, its worth every penny for all of the original paperwork and box sets. Good luck finding a complete original though, for its time it was even more worth it.
