Have you beaten this wonderful game? I did many years ago...
I'll never get a handle on these silly purge rules...anywho, the previous version got purged (as did version 1.0, coincidentally) due to inactivity...I actually never wrote down the specifics of version 1.0, except in the first post of version 2.0, so I'm not sure how old that topic was off the top of my head (other than it was started in 2001 sometime).

I remember when I struggled in Ultra Violence for Inferno...in the second level! Now, when I play, I seem to get to Limbo without a worry. I could still beat the game, though. I played from E1 to E3 on Nightmare straight.

As stated in the deceased, Yes! Countless times on UV and Nightmare. My favourite console port!

I submitted the correct US release date of Sept. 1 1995 (February '96? what the hell?) and the full credits list (not just the original PC version, which is all that's there now) for the data page on here.
That was a couple of weeks ago, and they haven't done jack about it so far. : /

Meh. Graphics are ok and all, but game play is more important.
Doom on SNES capture the PC look onto a console. The graphics were knocked down some, but they were still good.
Graphics dont phase me much in a game, I care about game play, story, controls, and fun factor.
and this had it ^_^.

My favorite thing about it is the sound and music. It's great.

Yes, and I really believed the SNES port sucked. Let's see...floors are just one plain color, enemies always look in your direction, half of them don't even make a sound when they see you, NOR move, so you can be getting shot at from what seems like nothing, the rocket launcher's firing sound is now a fireball sound, the BFG9000 blast is replaced by a Baron's fireball, the Cyberdemon's rockets fly backwards, for Christ's sake, both the Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind cycle through the death animation frames in a split second AND also use the Baron's death sound, the Baron's death animation stops one frame before the ending frame, unlike in any other version...uh...no saves, no passwords, certain episodes can only be accessed in the harder difficulties, the Chaingun's firing sound likes to skip a lot, every weapon's firing sound skips a lot, the Plasma Gun fires huge balls at a much slower rate, there are missing levels, which upsets me...hmm...anytime you press use on something inactivatable, the player grunts, enemies are extremely pixelated, the Chainsaw sounds like insanely low quality shock sounds, the mug doesn't even cycle through any other animations other than the looking around one, so you can't tell where a shot came from...and some other crap which angered me.
