The graphics aren’t anything spectacular but we are talking about cell phones here. The engine is close to being identical to the early Doom games. Of course there’s a little dip in the color palette but everything is easily recognizable if you’ve played the older games.
Controls are intuitive and responsive on the number pad. This is one of the easier games to play on a cell phone due to the time based nature of it. Action games usually are a pain to play but this is far from a straight action game.
The story is a little twist from the Doom mythos. You play a space marine that has to figure out what has happened to a reactor of a space colony and pretty much investigate whose being the sabotage in the area. The dialog is short and to the point and usually there are some funny references and jokes thrown about.
The sound is even pretty impressive. Usually mobile titles have a problem in this area with sound effects overlapping. This common mistake is thankfully absent from this title
Gameplay is very fun and satisfying. The action of Doom mixed with RPG elements makes a very creative and interesting hybrid that works perfectly. Story is advanced talking to fellow marines and scientists as well as computers, there are hidden passageways, a number of guns, tons of creatures and interesting items to use.
