While nothing like the Original, Doom II introduces lots of new characters to splatter across the floor.

User Rating: 9 | DOOM II PC
Doom II uses the exact same engine as its predacessor, introducing more ghoulish beasts like the mighty Mancubus, scurrying Arachnotron, and the evil Arch-Vile, as well as more terrifying weapons and powerups such as the mighty Super Shotgun or Megasphere, and of course, 32 new levels to rip and tear your way through. SO with all these new goodies, how does Doom II stand up to the original? Well in the way of graphics and new content, it superbly over shadows Doom. In terms of Level design, Story, and difficulty? Not so much. I've found that the first twenty levels or so can go by like a breeze, the harder levels coming at the end, such as Level 30, the final Boss, the Icon of Sin (John Romero in some countries/religious sects), which is probally the hardest level. None the less, Doom II will offer you more blood and chilling scares and mighty fights than ever before.

MULTIPLAYER:
Originally, Doom II had multiplayer features like the original, Modem, Serial, an IPX. Currently, a Doom port called Skulltag however has taken over the multiplayer world of Doom.

MODDING:
Doom II, like Doom, is extremely editable. With the right programs, creating new maps, replacing old sounds, sprites and music, can all be done quite easily. In fact with ports like ZDoom, the option of actually adding new enemies and weapons is all possible!

FINAL WORD:
Doom II brings you and all new set of chacters to splatter across the floors, and new maps and weapons to do it with. In all thoug, Doom II just doesn't seem t make it as the orginal did.
