Here insofar, I have been pretty patient. I have lurked around both these boards and the official Bethesda boards and have mostly kept to myself. But now I am getting pretty pissed off.

Three months in, and after a bevy of topics asking about a patch on the official Bethesda boards, their only response is "If there's any new information to share on content for BFG Edition, [we'll] let you guys know. Right now we just have the PC title update."

Considering that I paid market value for this game with the assumption that it would be the best Doom experience--as it was advertised to be--and id Software has been so tight-lipped about even the very existence of console updates, I think I now have a right to feel a bit miffed.

Actually, it's only been two months (as of Dec. 16th, that is).

You can count Master Levels and Final Doom for being DLC.

It's already out on the Doom Classic Complete. You can buy that instead since I doubt ID is going to make a patch. But you do get 80+ Doom maps,so it might be worth it even if you already have Doom 1 and 2.

I dunno, Final Doom is starting to seem a little overrated to me. There are some neat levels, sure, but it has it's share of annoying level designs. And those ones are usually the giant maps that just go on and on.

Many Doom fans don't like TNT, they generally prefer Plutonia. You might be one of those people!

Personally, I think Final Doom is my least favorite classic Doom add-on. Both TNT and Plutonia just didn't give me that same feeling when I first played Doom 1 and 2.

Actually, I think I'm like you. I really can't get into Plutonia, either. Just goes to show you can't substitute homemade level creation for a quality Id-made game.

There are a zillion megawds out there that are far far better than the ID levels. You just have to get doom for PC and use a source port. You're never going to see them on a console.

^ My point was more that Final Doom sucks (in my opinion, anyways).

Well, maybe if you trade it in, Murphy's Law will kick in and they'll finally release the patch. Which will be good for the rest of us, heh heh.

I doubt they are ever going to patch it at this point. Only reason I am keeping my copy is for the semi decent Doom 1 and 2 (apart from the censoring and weird reversed 5.1 audio)

Regarding the censoring, what did you expect them to do? For the medikits, my udnerstanding is that the red cross has claimed tha timagery as a trademark and that ID/bethesda woudl therefore be violating the law if they didn't censor that. Regarding the Nazi stuff, either they would have had to make a Germany only edition or not sell the game in germany. Do you really expect them to do this for a remake when the game is quite popular in Germany? I think you can make an argument that the nazi stuff should not have been censored in the NA version, but I cannot fathom what the argument is for not censoring the medikits.

I don't care about the medkits, but the wolfenstein levels bug me. Yes, they should've made two versions. It's rude to censor all regions due to Germany's asinine laws.

well great you fund them then so they can do just that.
it's easier to make one copy that suits all............sure the rest of the world loses out but in the end does it really matter a few bits of imagery is missing?
because you play the game to see nazi symbols actually knowing you the way you shoot walls and floors looking for graphical glitches you probably do.

why would you expect a company to foot a large bill for a classic retro game upgrade and make 2 versions just to please a few fanboys.
after all it seems only a handful rant about it over and over, when most just say it sucks and get over it....lol

i'm pretty sure they wanted to release it uncut but it didn't make financial sense to do so.(remember the worlds went politically correct)

oh and it's rude to censor a game?
it's also rude to try force your opinions upon others like you do post after post for nearly 4 months.
