The snes just can't handle a game like this.

Now DOOM 2 was the first game I ever played (well "real" game).
I did get around to playing the original (PC) and I loved every second of it.
When I saw DOOM on the snes in stores I jumped on it and instantly started playing. I was disappointed, the graphics were bad with a short draw-distance so I really couldn't see.
Also the controls had about a half second between when you press a button and when the character reacts.

Graphics - Now I already said the draw distance is horrible and the graphics don't look that good on their own and I stand by that. The graphics are way too dark to see anything especially at a distance.

gameplay - This is the heart and soul of DOOM but they screwed that up too. Now the gameplay itself isn't broken or anything but the game has a strange control lag to it that makes it hard to not get hit making dodging horrible and that's a problem with about 2 bosses that kill you in (1-2) hit(s).

sound - The sound is the best part of this port of DOOM but with the bad controls and draw distance issues the sound really won't make you want to keep playing.

special charm - Now the special charm is something that makes the game look really awesome and here that's the red cartridge. you want to know something? the cartridge is cooler and better than the game inside. This game is bad but the cart is cool.

final feelings - This port isn't broken but it has some disappointing problems that just keep it from being all that fun (after a short while). With the only thing good about it is it's red cartridge and awesome cover art.
