The classic ape is back!

Returning from the NES days, Donkey Kong Country makes it to the Wii via Virtual Console. The characters are crazy, both good and bad. platforming was incredible. The graphics even more so.
In case you forgot or never played (if that's the, shame on you!!!), the story was about the large, evil, and odd-looking King K. Rool stealing the Kong's giant banana hoard-something not even the producers could possibly make sense of- and Donkey Kong, with "little buddy" Diddy Kong giving chase.
The look of each level you play through is well made and nice to look at. Each level matches it's spot on the level selection screen nicely. Each level design will challenge your ability to press jump at the right time, steadily moving you into harder levels.
The music for each level was excellent and matched the level's geography: you got jazzy beats in the jungle and a nice piece for the underwater levels. Some of the tunes will get stuck in your head.
The character designs were well made. The Kongs are crazy cast of characters (see Cranky, the coolest Kong in the series). The Kremlings are a mass of insane looking, morphed crocs intent on stopping you with their glares.
Some say it has lost it's shine, but to a Nintendo fan, it is still fresh. If you the big guy, get the game. If you like platformers, get the game. If you like apes jumping on crocodiles, get the game. 800 points is a bargain.
