A brilliant follow up to the original. Donkey Kong Country 2 brings new elements to the series while keeping the charm.

Donkey Kong Country 2 is a quite brilliant follow-up to the original game with both the charm of the original with some new surprises. First thing worth noting is the loss of Donkey Kong as a playable character. Donkey Kong has been captured by King K. Rool and of course you have to save him. You control Diddy Kong who players of the first will be familiar with and his girlfriend Dixie Kong. Dixie Kong is an agile character with an awesome pony tail flip that extends the length of a jump. Enough about plot and characters though. You are probably wondering about the gameplay and levels i'd assume... Gameplay remains the same pretty much with small changes that aren't worth noting. The levels are better than ever and include some fresh ideas that aren't even seen today. Themes include pirate ships, underground, volcanoes, caves, and more underwater levels. In the end Donkey Kong Country 2 takes the winning formula from the original builds on it and results in a near perfect game.
