DKC2 is better than the first, don't get me wrong, but it's almost just like the first one, outside of the new characters and stages. Instead of a jungle theme, the game is based on piracy and the ocean. The bosses are now harder, and instead of your bananas being stilen, you must rescue Donkey Kong from Captain K. Rool. Yeah, everyone is getting hooked on this hole pirate thing. DKC2 has more life than the first. It's just more fun that you can glide and use many more animals than you could in the original. There are also a larger variety of minigames, as well as a better way of finishing a stage. You still get to selesct your stage as you complete them, and there is a lot more of the Kong family in this game. Really, if you've played the first, you've played this one as well. Dixie is the only major change in the two games, so it's only reccomended if you want the above differences.
