- Apr 17, 2010 7:30 am GMTThe game should either be remade for the DS or the 3DS (here's the wiki 3DS page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_3DS)
Here's 2 of the things it should incorperate if it were remade on the DSi.
1. the 3-D joystick
2. the tilt control - Apr 17, 2010 6:03 pm GMTyou mean 3DS, right?
and for crying out loud, don't give them ideas. this game should not be ruined by tilt-control, unless there are new mini games to use it on.

"Infinity Ward is the only game company that can make a game worse by fixing it"-InvalidMod - Apr 17, 2010 10:21 pm GMT3DS for sure. It can take advantage of the systems higher power and analog stick. the controls will have to be adjusted a lot, but I'm sure they could improve on the original game.

Youtube: NintendoProductions - Apr 18, 2010 6:47 pm GMTI wouldn't want to see this remade. The main reason being that Rare isn't the same as it used to be. In the past decade or so, Rare has declined considerably; just play any game that they've made for the GBA and you'll see what I mean. The GBA ports of the DKC games were poor (especially DKC2). The graphics were ruined because they were brightened to the point where everything is washed out and lost detail, the music quality doesn't compare, there were unnecessary extras that detracted from the game (like the scrapbook thing that thankfully wasn't used in DKC3), and there were a lot more glitches. And Rare's original games for GBA weren't much better: both Banjo games for GBA (Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and Banjo Pilot) were jokes compared to the N64 games, with little content.
Finally, during this decade, many important people who were a part of Rareware, including the Stamper brothers, Dave Wise, Grant Kirkhope, and many others, left Rare. So now, Rareware has nothing going for it. So if a port of DK64 were to be made, it probably wouldn't be any good. And judging from the trend of the GBA DKC games, the music will either be severely downgraded in quality or changed completely to uninspiring tunes, the graphics will be brightened and lose detail, and there will be even more glitches than there have been to begin with. Not good.

Keitai Denjuu Telefang is the most underrated game ever.
http://s15.zetaboards.com/Tulunk_Village/ - May 6, 2010 8:33 am GMTDo bear in mind that Microsoft doesn't own a real handheld system.
- May 6, 2010 8:34 am GMTAnd another thing the downgraded music was due to the weaker sound chip.
- May 7, 2010 6:34 pm GMTHere's a new idea, the beaver bother bonus game should be redone to use the tilting function.
- May 14, 2010 4:21 am GMTWho'd like a unique boss for each level?
- May 14, 2010 10:28 pm GMTA handheld version of DK64 would fail to interest me.
As for unique bosses go: I would've enjoyed seeing a few more unique bosses in DK64.

A plethora of DKC-related fanart to numb your mind:
http://kjsteroids.deviantart.com - May 16, 2010 6:34 am GMTRare should remake DK64 & Starfox Adventures (even if the latter keeps its T-rating) before Microsoft decides to manufacture its own real handheld
- May 16, 2010 5:45 pm GMTi just want a portable dk64

Soul Silver: 3266 7916 5109 - Jun 4, 2010 10:55 pm GMTOkay, but i doubt Jetpac will be kept.
- Jun 12, 2010 9:45 am GMTIf you wish jetpac is still kept, it's unlikely, so you'd have to consider getting the 360 remake.
- Jun 18, 2010 6:23 am GMTIt should hit the 3DS, the graphics be better.
- Jun 19, 2010 12:08 am GMTDonkey Kong 64 will never appear on Microsoft's handheld if they had one, just like Goldeneye, its not their property, even if Rare produced it.
The controls would be great on the 3DS, at least till i get my hands on the system to be offically sure. I just hope the controls will work for DS games as well, be nice to play Super Mario 64 DS without getting cramps after long use of playing. I'm sure nintendo wont disappoint.

- Jun 19, 2010 2:57 pm GMTI've nearly given up hope for this to hit VC (because of Jetpac)
However, on Nintendo's portable, it is possible to have Jetpac included, thus, the entire game. The graphics may change slightly (to make it 3D), but otherwise, they should remain the same. The controls may take time to get used to, but the same is for any new game or remake on a new system)
Hey, Ocarina of Time is confirmed for 3DS, making Majora's Mask a possibility. This game is less complex I'm sure than Majora's Mask, so I don't think it would be too hard. If this was just improved graphics and controls adjusted for the 3DS, I think that wouild be fine
I even have a Control Scheme
N64 : 3DS
Control Stick: Same
Z: L
R: Same
START: Same
C Buttons: + Pad
+ Pad (only used in 2D games: Donkey Kong and Jetpac, so C not needed): Same
B: B or X
A: A or Y
Theory:
Also, the bottom screen could be the map, and you can write on it like with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks.
Also, they could fix a few glitches that they didn't have time for (Nintendo could do this if they have the code for the game). Also, they should keep this style of Tiny. She was ruined in Diddy Kong Racing DS..

DK 64 for VC. Started: Monday 18 May 2009. Also waiting for: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. - Jun 20, 2010 12:33 pm GMTPlease beaar in mind that Tiny was redesigned to reduce confusion with Dixie, if Dixie is added, then some parts of the game should be redesigned to relfect the new characters
- Jun 20, 2010 6:00 pm GMTAgreed, I actually want a remake. My previous post was how they could do it without it being a remake.
My ideas for a remake:
There should be 2 new worlds, with one kong each.
No Banana Fairies or Battle Crowns on DK Isles, as they would go to the new worlds, something else could be where they are now.
New Boss Costs:
Jungle Japes: 40 (20 per Kong) (DK)
Angry Aztec: 120 (30 per Kong) (Diddy)
Frantic Factory: 200 (40 per Kong) (Tiny)
Banana Beach: 300 (50 per Kong) (Chunky)
Kremling Karnival: 420 (60 per Kong (Dixie)
Gloomy Galleon: 490 (70 per Kong) (Lanky)
Fungi Forest: 560 (80 per Kong) (Kiddie)
Crystal Caves: 630 (90 per Kong) (DK)
Creepy Castle: 700 (yup that's right 100 per Kong) (Tag Barrel order, starting with Lanky)
Hideout Helm: 14 Minutes + 1 per every blueprint returned (70 Blueprints in all = 84 min.), 4 Battle Crowns, Nintendo & Rareware (19 Banana Medals) Coins
DK Isles: 10 Boss Keys, up to 18 7-phase (7 Kongs) 3:00:00 Rounds (DK, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, Kiddy, DIxie, Chunky in that order)
DK Unlocks:
Diddy (JJ)
Lanky (AA)
Diddy Unlocks:
Tiny (AA)
Lanky Unlocks:
Chunky (FF)
Tiny Unlocks:
Dixie (BB)
Chunky Unlocks
Kiddy (KK)
Dixie Kong
Instrument: Clarinet Calamity
Weapon: Banana Blaster
Color: Pink
Potions:
Barrel Potion (Crystals):
Other Potion:
Pad Potion:
I have no ideas, but the originals were Diddy's flying, Lanky's Sprint, and Chunky's Invisibility. That's unfair!
Stats:
Speed: Fastest of all of the kongs
Jump: Highest Jump (twirls when coming down, but not very good distance compared to Tiny's Ponytail Twirl)
Gun power: Weakest Gun due to bananas curved shape
Profile created by; whitennerdy898
Kiddy Kong
Instrument: Xylophone Xap
Weapon: Walnut Bazooka
Color: Orange
Potions:
Barrel Potion (Crystals): Kong Boulder (Gorrilum Boulderus): Turns Kiddy into a boulder, allowing him to crush enemies, trigger certain switches and smash certain doors.
Other Potion: Water Skip (Aquoum Bounceus): Allows Kiddy to roll onto water with Z-B (must be from land), then skip across by pressing A everytime he hits the water. Allows you to reach higher areas that other Kongs normally couldn't reach from the water.
Pad Potion: Kiddy Tears (Kongus Unhappium): Controller buttons pop-up on-screen. Acts like an instrument blast, killing enemies and opening some doors, but only if the buttons are correctly pressed.
Stats:
Speed: Slower than Chunky
Jump: Relatively low, like in DKC3
Gun power: Most powerful gun, a little more so than Pineapples. Only takes 3 hits to kill a Kasplat!
The Dixie and Kiddy stuff I got from: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=191702&topic=45538340 , except Dixie's moves, explained above, and Kiddy's weapon (see DK Rap). Although, I had those colors in mind before I saw that topic
