The choice for boxing fans who want fighters - but thats all you get.
From the begining the game is worthless. I played one match and ended up going through the career mode just to find out the roster. The best thing about this game is the roster - holding many classic fighters and mostly fighters that Fight Night fans crave for.
The commentary is also OK with a brief summary of whats happening, but somtimes is misguided with its limited lines - example when I was hurt badly I was escaping my oppenent and the commentary stated that both fighters were extremly hesitant to throw punches. Not too far off but still took realism out.
The graphics also get a decent mark here , they somwhat resemble the real life counter-parts just enough so you know who they are - but other than the ropes that is all thats going with an invisible blended croud to no detail on the floor or the turnbuckles.
The customization i noticed is poor. There are 9 shorts , gloves and boots to choose from and less than that faces. Your fighters will look simular to your friends if you tricked them into getting it.
Then the gameplay. Some times your shots arnt input properly making you fail your "Power Combo" and most times you can land an uppercut but not a straight in the daft rangefinder. I ended career 32-0 with 28 koes because i found an easy formular to win on every difficulty. Step back and right hook (or left if you 'southpaw'). I found this out around my 8th fight and i was struggling at that point. Now my oppenents were trumped. The training is easy - so when you do get outboxed which can be regular due to some oppenents suddenly becoming super amazing after being battered - your power will always overcome. Ive been losing a fight when i didnt do my right hook and suddenly i came from being down 4 times to knocking my oppenent down 3 times in a minute - a silly thing that would rarely happen. The fighters are dumb - they dont know anything about defence - they will just move forward and every fighter is mentally the same.
So overall the game is not worthy to be bought , Animal Boxing proves better for boxing fans and even thats quite poor.
