Devil May Cry (DMC) is one of those games willing to take a chance on remembering that you're playing a game to have fun. I know that this is a long running franchise and complaints that it's veered off course may be valid. But, as this is my first time playing a DMC title, I'm finding it incredibly enjoyable. It's a hack/slash game that's nice and gory! What's cool is during attacks, the game plays heavy metal/rave/rock music and doles out "Zombieland" type of messages: on the walls, on the ground, everywhere -- very salty messages. Oh, and there's nudity. Always a plus. Some of the game play can get repetitive as you have to use certain attacks for certain enemies over and over, but there's plenty variety in your weapons arsenal. And, there's plenty of options for upgrades and upgrade configuration. The banter between our main character and the bosses makes out-loud laughing a regular occurrence. Most of the game play is in 'limbo' which makes for some very creative atmospheres to play in. You can be playing in an upside down cityscape or inside a news broadcast. It's very creative and enjoyable; much like Shadows of the Damned. I haven't finished yet and hope it ends well, but I'm already very glad I got the game. It rocks! (This review is for PS3 -- I don't know how to move my review there. Sorry)

Don't listen to the whiny fans. DmC is a fantastic game, and I actually prefer the new Dante over the old.
