DmC: Devil May Cry had a lot of controversy from old, hardcore DmC fans when announced and Dante's new look was criticised by many. Lots of fans said that they would miss out the game as it is just a "ridiculous, unnecessary reboot" not to mention many hated it because it was going to be made by British developers Ninja Theory because they are "British". Yet many people forget that of Rockstar, the British developers who create the extremely popular Grand Theft Auto games. Also the fact that Capcom themselves are only publishing the latest DmC: Devil May Cry. Those fans who despise the idea of playing a new DmC are truly missing out though.

The new DmC: Devil May Cry is a superb hack'n'slash that deserves a lot of praise. It has a slick combo system, fantastic weapons and many reasons to keep coming back. Difficulty levels ranging from hard to expert, unlockables and the gripping story written by Ninja Theory. It truly is a game which has is enjoyable for many fans old and new. Any errors in the game are, for the most part, human errors such as the wrong timing with angel dashes or not dodging enemy attacks in time. The story's characters are compelling and interesting to watch whilst you see their relationships shift around from good to bad.

The latest game follows Dante, his twin brother Vergil and their friend/assistant Kat fight off demons in Limbo and take on the evil Demon King himself, Mundus, before he has the whole world within his control. The group faces many different challenges such as the Verility drink Succubus to the news reading demon of Bob Barbas. From getting back Phineas' eye from the harpies to confronting Mundus himself. The world itself is interactive too with many hidden areas, lost souls which increase your level rank and dragging and pulling parts of walls out and towards you with your demon and angel weapons.

The new DmC is game that is great for old fans and introduces a whole world to those who are new to the world with Dante's charm and cocky nature adding to the story which will drag you in once you begin to understand what is going on... right after the first mission to be blunt. Boss fights are fun and challenging at the same time whilst being unique in their style of battle. Enemies range from easy grunts to hard-to-kill brutes. DmC: Devil May Cry is a investment worth paying for!
