I mean... it's pretty solid to me. Shoot me.

That said, I got an SSS on normal about 6-7 playthroughs through. And beat Son of Sparda on the first try (died twice though). Ask me anything.

Are you going to play the first 4?
They're all great games, save for 2.

Plan on it after this game. A friend of mine said it would be good to play this one first, as I wouldn't be aggravated at the lore change.

Some friend, I suggest you rid this from your mind and go play the first 4.

You can skip 2 if you like.

There's always the DMC HD collection for ease of access. It's available on Live's On Demand library for 30 bucks. 4 is 20 there, but you could probably find it cheaper at Gamestop. The collection though, I think is still lower priced than what I've seen in stores.

And seriously, all the whining in the world isn't going to stop this game from coming out. It's cute to watch some of you guys try, though. I hope it's a smash hit JUST so it pisses all the whiny fanboys off even more.

Who said this was to prevent it coming out? It's so the sales will be low and Capcom will see that it was stupid to ask a team like Ninja Theory to work on this franchise.

Your opinion holds no weight when you've not played the others. With that said this is all of our first DmC game.

I mean, I've played other beat em ups, mainly God of War. This game alone is more fun that those, as it has some variety. Just because it may be worse than the ones before doesn't mean it's bad. I always trash on Wind Waker, but it's still a great game.

Good plan. I suggest you give the HD collection a try to tide you over until this game's release though. That's my plan.

So, your basic goal - regardless if the game is good or not, is to trash it so that sales are low in hopes of getting a DMC5.

First off, when a particular entry in a franchise doesn't sell well, the first thing a publisher doesn't do is go out and make another entry in said franchise genius.

Secondly, are you that purposeless in life that you take such an important - near political like agenda as to slander a game in hopes that it doesn't perform well commercially?

The **** is that? What have the gamefaq devil may cry boards have become...my goodness.

It's just a game board, and if it is an agenda to you then you pay too much attention. I'm merely here due to a bit of boredom and curious to see how this game progresses. That and say my piece.

Right... quite frankly, after DMC4, the series kinda needed a reboot. Not that 4 was bad by any means, but it was very obvious they needed a fresh take on the game. Nero and doubling back halfway through were... unsavory options, although Nero IS a bad ass. Ninja Theory is a great developer, and they seem to be doing a wonderful job, so what's wrong with it? It's not like they tossed a bone to Slant Six or something. That would be scary. >_>

Yeah I have to agree actually, after RE ORC I sort of don't want to see that happen again. It was messy with the storyline and there was almost close to zero on any character development at all. Then again they made too many bloody characters to handle with.

Nailed my thoughts exactly. Backtracking is never fun...and backtracking through basically the entire game and bosses in reverse order, even less so. As to the guy you quoted, that's exactly the reason I hope this game is a smash hit...just to crush the hopes of all the bloody whiners here. Hell, being a fan of the old ones, even if I don't like it as much as I think I will, I STILL hope it sells well. You can't live in nostalgia-land forever...and series have to move on.

Also, seriously? Trusting somebody else to make DMC is a bad idea? After what happened with RE6, I'd be hesitant to trust them with half their own franchises anymore. Capcom, and Japan in general really, has kinda lost touch with what western gamers want. Chances are that NT's DmC will turn out better than whatever Capcom's in-house guys would have come up with. No way to prove that of course, but their track record lately kinda suggests I'm right. Their only in-house console game lately that wasn't a disappointment in one way or another was Dragon's Dogma...and even then, that game was flawed but promising.

This is also my first time playing DMC and I loved the demo.

Though, I'll probably get Metal Gear Solid Revengance first. Sucks that they're both coming out close to each other.
