DLC Quest has made its way onto XBLA and my heart...

User Rating: 8.5 | DLC Quest X360
Short, sweet and to the point, DLC Quest is a great commentary on the state of DLC in games. The graphics themselves are cutesy-retro, and the platform-collecting/ coin seeking game play act as nods to games of ol'.
The game itself is short, I finished it in a little over an hour. With a value of $1, it was a dollar well spent.
Collecting coins is your main focus here, so you can save the princess, duh. At the start of the game, you can only move right, there's also no sound nor character animation. After collecting 5 coins, you earn the "movement" DLC which opens up jumping and moving left. There's DLC packs for sound and animation and even a DLC pack for simply pausing the game. A few DLC packs range from double jumping to horse armour to moving to another zone (and back again). It's funny and a great stab at how rediculous DLC items can be.
The humour is tongue in cheek, as the game is visually disguised as an RPG and you can talk to NPC's. There's even someone who tries to give you a quest!
The potential is there for Going Loud Studios to make a sequel that's a full blown arcade game. A couple of bugs aside, this is one of the best investments I've made from the X Box Live market in a long time.
