DJ Hero Review

Every year we get a game that changes the that games are played. This year Activision brought us DJ Hero. DJ Hero has all of the things that a good music game needs. The first thing that I noticed was how the game is played. The turntable has a spinning record, effects dial, Euphoria button, and a cross fader. As gems and scratch sequences roll down the record you have to match the commands on the turntable. The learning curve takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The amount of mixes in the game is amazing. There are about 93 unique mixes in the game. Including artist like Jay-Z, Eminem , The Black Eyed Peas, and many more. You can also play with a friend on a guitar or another turntable. Some real DJ's also helped make some of the mixes like Daft Punk, DJ Shadow , DJ AM, DJ Yoda , and Grandmaster Flash. The graphics in the game are decent. They aren't ground breaking. There are lots of flashing lights and colors in the background. I like the way that the menus look. The sound in the game is top notch. Everything from scratching sounds to the loud cheering crowd sounds great. There were only two problems that I had with the game. First, The cross fader is really sensitive so one wrong jerk and there goes your multiplier. Second, it's really pricey. At $119.99 that's kind of expensive( especially in this recession). But if you are looking for a really good rhythm game with great beats then DJ Hero is for you.
