Its like a single character version of MIGHT AND MAGIC 6-8 in third person! Truly epic.
Sound- Fits in perfect taking the mind to another world with haunting sounds and the soothing lullabyes of nature. From the sound of gentle waterfalls to the gregarious laughter and conversation of tavern peeps the sound effects really do their job. Music is astounding like something out of a old Italian romance movie. It gives DIVINITY II EGO DRACONIS its own unique character the same way listening to the music of a rpg by Bethesda reminds me instantly of MORROWIND,OBLIVION,FALLOUT 3, DAGGERFALL etc.
Conversation are very well done with tons of humour and sarcasm tossed in.
Gameplay- Very intuitive and easy to learn especially if you have played rpgs like OBLIVION and DRAGON AGE ORIGINS. Combat is fluid and in real time with no immersion breaking pauses. There are special moves one can do during combat to do extra damage or defend along with the unique ability to transform and fight as dragon. The same goes for combat spells with fun interesting things as being able to summon fourth a being such as a ghost or zombie to fight by your side. You can also gather body parts and build a creature that shall do your bidding. Another enjoyable thing is being able to change your characters look and even their gender ingame with the help of an npc who can do this. Seems this particular helpful male npc may have a attraction to be a tad more feminine considering his mannerisms and speech at times ha ha. All tastefully done of course. Theres also plenty of moral choices to be made which helped me to flesh out my character in my mind and ponder what makes him tick emotionally.
The world is vast with plenty of exploring to do and not once did i feel i was playing a linear rpg.
A fantastic rpg well worth purchasing which brings back memories of such lively classics as the laid to rest MIGHT AND MAGIC series by 3DO and CGW but without the party based element. Buy DIVINITY II EGO DRACONIS and support such rare great game design and creativity.
