Dissidia is addictive, fun and awesome!! One of the best games you could ever have on your PSP.

User Rating: 8 | Dissidia: Final Fantasy PSP
NOTE: All the content in this game is from Final Fantasy games 1-10 so there's nothing from 11, 12 or 13 or any of the spin-offs.

I wanted this game as soon as it came out, I love Final Fantasy.
I will admit, I never play RPG's. I play action RPG's, but I mainly play the Final Fantasy games because of their fantastic stories and characters, because I'm a shooter fan, as I said I NEVER play RPG's.
Well, I LOVE this game. It is so addictive! The best kind of PSP game is the one you can pick up and play relentlessly and endlessly.
Dissidia is a 3D fighter with the whole RPG element mixed within.
The fighting is different to most games.
While most fighters take on a side perspective Dissidia lets you roam around a usually massive arena. And yes, each arena is a location from one of the FF games. So there will be the Chaos Shrine from FF1, Ultemicias Castle from FFVIII and so on.
The characters are also from the Final Fantasy games (duh).
There are 20 to play as, the hero and villain from each game 1-10, so you can play through epic battles such as Cloud vs Sephiroth or Tidus vs Jecht.
And these battles are extremely fun!!!!!!! Circle is used for attack which I'm not used to but it doesn't take very long. X for jump and square is this big special move, different for each character This move almost always fnishes the battle.
The reason for this is that in the game you dont have just a health bar but also bravery points. Circle is used for taking down bravery points so once they are down your opponenet will suffer a "break." That means that your HP attacks have more effect, and will pretty much finish the battle instantly.
If you didn't get that then just wait to play the game, it all works very well.
You also have this thing called an EX meter. Little things appear around the battlefield which you can fly into and use to fill your EX meter up. Once it's full, you can unleash a massive attack. This activates a mini game, different for each character. These moves are AWESOME.
I'd be saying too much if I gave any more of the battle away.
There are separate modes as well, story mode, quick battle and arcade mode.
Story mode is awesome, quick battle is awesome too.
Well, I liked arcade the most. Basically (on normal mode) you go through a gauntlet of battles and have to survive till the end, it was really fun.
Through the course of the game you unlock more abilities, weapons and the usual jazz, and that element works like a normal RPG so there's nothing different to pick out because of course, it all works great.
Two elements where Dissidia does not shine are with its story and camera.
Well usually the camera is great and works well but only in the big arenas which are most of them luckily.
In the arenas where the space is limited, nothing works as well and the camera can often get really annoying, resulting in you getting hit.
The story is also pretty weak, I wont go into it but before I knew it I was skipping cutscenes and not caring about any story whatsoever.
In the end, Dissidia is extremely fun and perfect for your PSP.
Even if you aren't a fan of FF then you should pick up this extremely fun game.
