Final Fantasy Meets Smash Bros.

I have to say, I was not that impressed with the first Dissidia. I liked the idea behind it, but when I played it, it just didn't really do anything for me. And when I heard they were making a sequel, I figured I wouldn't even look at it. Then, I heard Tifa was gonna be in it, and I was like, "Meh, I love Tifa, but there's Ehrgeiz..." But, on a whim, I got it. I haven't put it down since.

Waaayyyyy past Tifa, this game delivers a romping good time! I've only played FF6(not much), ff7(my fav), FF8, FF9, and FF10x2. So, as far as my knowledge with FF goes, it's mediocre, at best. But, I still enjoy the story mode (even though it is super cheesy, campy, fan service- whatever, it works). You have to be selected people though the course of the story mode, but it really doesn't hinder the experience- even if you're like me and you're not really a hardcore FF fan. The game really shines as long as you have a love for RPG games, solid figthers, a certain character from the series, or if your just level crazy (these fighters each level up on their own, so if you have more than one favorite, you're in luck on making each succeed differently).

I say this game is like Smash Bros, not in the sense that it's a 4 man brawl, the fights are 1 on 1. I say it's like Smash in the sense that seeing some of these characters recreated for this game, as well as the music and enviornments, do for me what Smash did- just a great sense of being a gamer and being able to be apart of a game like this. The levels are mostly HUGE, and you won't spend much time battling on foot, as the action ranges high in the sky (think DBZ- whatever, it works!) And there are rewards GALORE up in this piece. You constantly find equipment, and you can even fight certain fighters for certain pieces to make better items.

This game is fan service- 100%. But, that's not a bad thing if you're not- this game isn't just for the fans, it's for gamers. I thought I'd only play it for a day, but I'm hooked and I consider this one of the BEST PSP games- from quality design to entertainment, Square Enix don't play with this one!
