Great Movie, Great Game

User Rating: 9.6 | Disney's The Emperor's New Groove PS
The Emperor's New Groove is one of Disney's underrated titles ever to be released, ever since it came out in December 2000. This game kind of retells the movie, but in a very different way that is somewhat satisfying. What I like about this game is the tone of it. The way it is, it is all good and fun.

Of course, if you saw the movie, you would know how it all started. Kuzco is a cocky emperor, and his advisor Yzma turns him into a llama by accident and her right hand man Kronk drops him off at Pacha's village, Pacha was a peasant that Kuzco wasn't fair too. THe two must put aisde their differences and work together. However, the story is a bit rehashed here, and goes into places the movie didn't.

Playing the game was pretty fun, and funny. You play as a llama, or use different potions to become a frog, a turtle, and a rabbit. Playing as a frog was a bit challenging, since each 3 hops get longer and longer. As a turtle, you walk slow (obviously), but you race down hills on your back. As a rabbit, you comically hover around with long airs and jump really high.

Sometimes it got pretty tricky and challenging. The dialogue is funny as well. The sound is cool, the music isn't too ctachy, so I don't listen to it. I like the background sounds and all that. It's kind of open-ended here and there, but very linear at the same time.

Fans of the movie should continue to enjoy beating the game, and I think Disney interactive did a good adaptation like they did with Tarzan and the Pixar movies.
