My hopes for the first one were huge. I ended up disappointed.

I hope this guy does a better job with the 2nd game...

Sadly not many people know Warren Spector that well, including Gamespot.

If they remember not too long ago at a conference Warren spoke about game issues, he talked about how gamers should "demand more" and not settle for the "same, repititive stuff".  He brings it up a bit here as well.

He has his own philiosphy, he could have made 5 to 10 Deus Ex's but that would be no challenge to him and quite frankly he would rather commit suicide than be put to a challenge.

I'm glad he has the guts and vision to make a decent game--'decent' and good both.

What a waste of talent. Put him to work on Thief 4.

 @wornstar

That is an old article and he has since been much clearer about what he meant.

He's not saying he doesn't approve of any form of violence in video games he is just saying it shouldn't be the end goal (Just like in Deus Ex) And that devs should focus on more than just how many body parts one can separate a human being from. Such as art style, player control, writing, story ect. Everything but how realistic the blood looks.

 @wornstar warren spector has to understand that games are, for a large portion, about doing things you are not able to do in real life.. this can be flying a plane in a flight sim, run around in a magical world filled with fantasy or just plain dumping bullets into a body.. killing people is pretty much the ultimate thing someone would not do in real life (not any sane people anyways) so its quite understandable its also the thing most people would like to do in a game

This guy is without a doubt the perfect man to lead a Disney game development team.  I'm excited for whatever they'll dish out next.

Warren, "800 people working" on a video game? That's Guinness Book of Record numbers! Rather disturbing, if true.
