Chris Watters sneaks and stabs his way through this video review for Dishonored.
If there is a noticeable flaw it would be that the enemies resemble those of Fable. Big hands big feet and disproportionate.
a truly refreshing game experience this is my game of the year hands down followed by sleeping dogs, mass effect 3 and x com
So cheap on amazon atm! Defo gona but this. Reviews look good, and most of the people saying it's a bad game don't seem to have actually played it. I'm hoping it wont be like Skyrim-job as I didn't enjoy that game as much as everyone else seemed to.....
I think I might try the game, and see if I can find a 3rd person mod. Most likely wont buy it, as I hate 1st person games... Even Far Cry 3 is incredibly beautiful, but I just can't stand 1st person...
I'm the exact opposite. I prefer first person perspective to third. For me it's more immersive.
ya would you define 'originality' and creativity, and then please explain the differance of the two because what you seems to make no sense.
@The_Crispy_Pata that is the most contradictory statement ive ever heard
stop saying its fucking short you guys take your fucking time with the game dont fucking rush it >:)
@ChUcKyDaKiLlA Game has great replay power. Can do one play through using stealth and not kill anyone, and one play through killing. Story changes with every decision you make. Problem is these kids put it on very easy or easy and breeze through the game steamrolling everything in sight and not enjoying the nuances of the game. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore and ways to play.
Dude look at this review its fucking awesome (sorry for the language) but its true man it looks like a kick a** game and its stealth man. It makes you feel like an actual assassin, but just to say Assassins Creeds games are the fucking best in assassin no doubt on my part. This will be one of other games that i will not get bored with(I Hope)
@ChUcKyDaKiLlA Game has more creativity then Assassins creed. This is game of year. A original title for it is part 1 and completely unique. If you haven't bought a game in awhile this would be number 1 on the list of games to buy.
it's a very nice game, i agree with most of the review, though it had 1 giant flaw for me... this is the 1st (and hopefully last) game i EVER bought that does not contain the original (english) language in my country. i really do not understand why i can play the game in german, french, spanish and italian but not in english!!!!! thankfully this game was nice enough to overlook this really giant flaw, but i would have had a much better experience playing it in english (LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME I PLAY). please, whoever decides this stuff, do not ever do this to another video game!
I dare someone to give me a valid reason as to why this game sucks... it has its few quirks but damn if this game isn't one of the best IPs released in years. Spent around 2/3 hours on one mission trying to be as stealthy as possible and not kill anyone and by the end of it all, I felt like a satisfied assassin.
Do yourself a favor and put down your copies of COD, Battlefield and dare I say Skyrim and buy this game!!!
Overrate? Too short? Jheez clearly this is what's wrong with modern gamers! No variety in your mind, I love long difficult games (devoured Dark souls and Demons's souls, still my favorite games to date) I've played and loved commodore 64 games, SNES, N64 and at the end of the day, after considering all of those games, this is still hands down 'ONE OF' my favourites!
The graphics are not '2006' just because it's not photo realistic, it has a gorgeous, painted look to it.
The story isn't the most original, however it is a bold new I.P. that combines a used story with the excellent powers and a (what I imagined of) George Orwell's 1984 landscape combined with a Victoran-English look and a lovely sound-track to create a masterpiece.
It's not that short and has plenty of replay value because of the mass of creativity! And the only other thing I hear people whine about is the lack of online multi-player which was a brilliant decision, emphasizing the single player like the old, great games (Zelda OOT etc) in an age bogged down by FPS clones and samey online features.
Bravo Arkane Studio's!
One of the most disappointing games I have ever played. Way too short and the trouble you have to go through for such a horrible ending was not worth it. I want my money back!
Where are the people in this game and it is for the most part dead like it's made of cardboard or a movie set. Too expensive for so little. They dishonored the gaming community. I always think when a new game comes out that they are testing for the second one. They don't give you enough and we hope the next one will be better.
Pass on it until it's $9,99
Playing it now, enjoyin it so far. However, I cannot but compare it to Skyrim and I do not know why...
Not so interesting gameplay.
Assassination style doesn't fit in FPS the way they've done it.
I'd give it a 7.5
its hard not to compared this game with another like genre, but Dishonored at least made something out of the box, But I had a hard time playing as an assassin in first person view, kinda clumsy. My Skyrim experience is always third person view except arrow firing.
