Jane and Cam take you through a pixel-by-pixel tour of the first Dishonored Trailer.
@natanaj I'm a hardcore Halo fan, it's my favorite series ever. The Halo AI is definitly very smart and each playthrough is different, but what Dishonored is doing with its AI is really unlike what any game has ever seen. Halo's AI is around what the Dishonored AI is supposed to be like, but not quite. Don't get me wrong about Halo though, I love the Halo franchise a little too much actually.
This trailer looks amazing. In an issue of Game Informer they had an article about this game and how the AI is supposed to be totally different than any other game. In Dishonored, the AI don't react when you cross an "invisible line", they react just like a real person would, and different in every playthrough. Like in games when you come to a certain point, the game starts the next part of the game and the AI will do as they were programed, but here, the AI are like real people without instructions to do something when the player gets to a certain point. Probably confusing but hey I'm not a writer lol all I know is that I'm looking forward to this a lot.
Really looking forward to this game..and for more reasons than just because it's not using the Gamebryo engine :P
@parrot_of_adun I agree wholeheartedly regarding close similarities with the franchise ~ I've been biting my tongue over some of these comments for the past couple of days. I'm assuming limited experience (and probably imagination) on the part of those making such banal comparisons to less relevant examples.
Finally. Honestly, it's been ages since I've been so hyped up by a trailer. Now I'm waiting for some gameplay videos.
Those guys remind me of Half Life 2's tripods for some reason. Actually the entire game reminds me a lot of Half Life and what Half Life 3 or Episode 3 could be like and that feeling is really hard to achieve, for me HL is still the top of FPS games and this game just looks so amazing, I'll probably buy it as some sort of replacement for my long crave for the next HL
More than Assassins Creed like many have said... this gives me more of a Theif / Mirrors Edge kinda feel. And it looks awesome! Need to see some gameplay!
@the_requiem Funny thing, the "Altair" (nicknamed "the flying eagle", according to its description) is arguably one of the cars in The Saboteur.
@parrot_of_adun: I do agree with you, but sweeping generalizations is the only resort of a less learned mind. Some find it easy to grasp a concept if presented as similar to something existing, while others feel comforted in those similarities so latch on to them. I mean, people DID describe Saboteur as AC meets GTA/Mafia in Nazi occupied France. I think I'll go now before I raise a smug alert.
@the_requiem - ...Things also found in: Too many games to count. If that were all that a game needed to be just like AC, it and The Saboteur would practically be the same game. That's fine if no one thinks of Thief, I just find it odd that people latch onto things like assassination and decide it's just like the latest popular game to feature that, ignoring the huge differences like supernatural abilities, and a fundamentally different setting/gameplay/perspective.
@parrot_of_adun: was gonna agree with you [a longtime Thief fan] but then noticed small post to right, right under "Dishonored Exclusive: Stealthy Gruesome Murder" "...you play a supernatural assassin". Assassin. Stealth. Gruesome Murder... it does have lot more common with AC than just murder and rooftops. Besides, give the kid benefit of doubt, might not even know about Thief.
OMG, this level of detail and graphics is amazing. never heard of this game till now. Gonna keep an eye on it now.
@prince__vlad: Here's the trailer: tinyurl.com/dishonoredtrailer They've said it in the very beginning of this video: if you haven't watched the trailer you could do so, by following the URL on screen. They're not idiots. -.-
@prince__vlad They clearly gave the URL for the trailer without their commentary before starting... Use your brain instead of just blundering into something.
couldn't they just give the trailer without their stupid stops and comments , I wonder ? Though..nice trailer even...stained by those two idiots.
Hmm after watching this I must say this game looks dangerously ambitious. We all know ambition and innovation do not do to well in today?s gaming world. They rarely make it out of the gate. ie Prey 2
Anyone notice the trailer directly features scenes we've seen in the screenshots (i.e. the eavesdropped meeting)? And that it dips in and out of first person makes this a "semi-gameplay" trailer for me, since Corvo does things in the trailer froma 1st person perspective that we know for a fact you can do in the game, like freeze time and spy through key holes. I'm just dissapointed you don't see Corvo possess any fish :(
I wanted to see skyrim dlc and this crap ...! Not my kind of game been done over an over again and these types of games i dont like and now im sick of waiting for skyrim dlc this just ticks me off .
awesome trailer ... yes, but what about the game? remember dead island? operation racoon city? all awesome trailers .... we need some game play ffs!
@RavenXavier Really the only thing in common with AC is murder (which puts it in the same crowd... Well most games), and rooftops exist (which AC was not the first to show). This looks much more similar to Thief, but even then, it looks more unique than the average game now.
Ive been excited about this game since the Game Informer cover story a few months back... Good to see more about it x)
This was like an AC trailer, well minus the mechs and time stopping. Though given all the gadgets they gave Ezio, one more game and it would have been in there lol.
Interesting, he used Unrelenting Force on the door, then Whirlwind out the window. I thought it looked more Victorian England than the 40's..Lanterns and candles rather than lights, whaling, steampunk.
I think it looks sick. it gives me a thief/arcanum/deus ex feel to it. really diggin the sandbox type features. def gonna grab this one guys. i wanna figure out if there is ne roleplaying features in this tho. that wud be dope
