Tread carefully. This game will make you feel like the choices you make matter and that the world belongs to you. It doesn't. Often times I found myself playing the "good way" only to save my progress and restart the same section and do some destruction. The game gives you great powers right from the onset but if you use them you get the bad ending. In a game that praises variety you are reduced to stealth kills, dark vision, and sleep arrows if you want to play it safe. It is completely boring. Go the other route and you will quickly lay waste to all enemies in an area and be left to follow lame quest markers around with nothing more than a talking heart in your hand. Literally. Start mission, listen to boring npcs, complete mission, go to bed, repeat. The world of Dishonored is great but treading through it leaves much to be desired when you have to keep hiding from guards and running from Weepers (the games sad attempt at plague ridden zombies). The audio logs, dual powers and weapons, and social commentary all feel like a sad attempt at re-creating the magic of Bioshock. The quest items even glow the same color! After the second mission I completely abandoned caring about the characters,the story, or the game play and began to just try and make the most of my weapons and powers. In return characters offered less dialogue, enemies became more frequent, and I was on my way to the bad ending. I wanted this game to be more. My only hope is that I trade this in soon enough before more people stop believing this games hype and the value drops.
