Dishonored is great action-adventure all around.
Story & Characters 8/10
You play as Corvo.A military man in charge of protecting the empress of the land and her daughter Emily.This however changes after the empres is murdered by mysterious assasins with strange powers and Corvo gets blamed for the murder.But before he can sentenced to death for treason.A rebel group saves him from his demise and ask's for him to assasinate several state offical's to bring down the corrupted goverment and restore the parlament.The story is very good and it's presented well.The chacters are also very well done.My favorite is Emily.She seems to handle the situation she's in very well.But we keep seeing her have to go through these horrible situation's.And they effect her very much as the story progresses.There is a good side-character cast as well.There's way too many to even mention.Wich caused a lot of them to not get a lot of development.Making some of them really boring.
Presentation & Sound 9/10
Presentation as really well done.The city of Dunnwall look's like something from Bioshock mixed with Victorian-age England.The character desings are also very cool and the framerate runs smoothly.The voice acting is top noch with a lot of great performances that give the characters a Victorian-age arrogance about them.The soundtrack delivers with some impressive instrument-work that sets the mood just right.Oh and i just have to say.The blood-effect's look ****ing awesome!
Gameplay 9/10
Gameplay is the best part.There are 3 main aspect's to it.
1.Magic power's that are awesome and fun to use.There are many different one's such as a teleport,being able to possess animal's and even people or even summon a swarm of rat's to devouer your enemies.
2.Combat and Stealth.You can fight your enemies head-on using swords,guns,crossbow's,grenades,magic powers and combining them in sweet combos.Or you can take the stealthy and patient route and kill/or knock out guards and even your main targets in fun,interesting and varied ways.
3.Choosing your way.This game let's you choose how you want to play it.Wanna be a pacifist and not kill anyone.Go right ahead!Wanna be a crazy sword wearing mass murderer.You can do that!
These 3 simple thing's make the game a blast.And you can also replay any mission to discover every way you can assasinate,frame or expose your targets.Wich is a nice touch and gives the game a lot of replay-value
Final Verdict 9/10
Dishonored is a great game for anyone who likes action,stealth and adventure.It's worth every penny thank's to it's replay value.
And it's a very original game in this day and age of boring-brown-corridor-first-person-shooters.Go check it out! =)
