Plays a bit like Bioshock in a British steampunk universe.

This is one of my favorite games I've played recently. After a long stint trying finishing Skyrim and Assassin's Creed 3 in the evenings, this game was a refreshing standard length – and I got a bit more life out of it by seeking out all the extras.

Gameplay was highly addictive, and I found myself inclined toward a stealthy approach. But, no matter your choice, gameplay is fluid and responsive and scales to suit your style.

The game's environments, colors, music, and voiceover were all quite good, and the well-crafted linear story was a welcome reprieve to the more open-world games which seem more common on the market today. I kept discovering new areas and finding myself amazed that some gamers might power through the levels and not discover the hidden nooks and crannies.

This game reminded me why I love videogames: It's an interesting story, told in an interactive way. Even from a literary perspective, this is a well-told tale of power and moral ambiguity. And your decisions come back to you in small notes and gifts which make the world feel just a bit more real.

If I get time, I look forward to playing the extra DLC.
