I loved the game and it felt very original, but I felt as if the low and high chaos stories could have been more differenet...
I played through on high chaos first so when the loyalists betrayed Corvo and left him for dead I was very surprised but I came to realise that perhaps his violent and chaotic way of dealing with the missions, killing all targets etc had led them to it and caused them to fear him and what he was capable of, so it was cool and made sense.
With low chaos however, non lethally taking out all targets and enemies and seldom being detected I was quite disappointed that they betrayed Corvo just the same and left him to die, while I appreciated how certain things changed, particularly the end of the final mission aswell as smaller things such as Callista's survival or death and how Samuel would talk to you the last time you see him. I just feel that for a game which seems to be about choice and the way you choose to deal with things that the outcome of your actions could have varied a lot more than it did -
Perhaps for the flooded district the loyalists could have said they found out where the assassin Daud was hiding and Corvo there? And I'm sure they could have thought up something interesting for the final mission without the betrayal of the loyalists.
In short : I liked what happened with High chaos and it felt 'bad' but the outcome of a low chaos playthrough felt too similar and not 'good'.
