Which of these looks better from what you've seen? I'm aware no one can know for sure since no one's played it. But I've got a matter of minutes to preorder >_>.
I just want the most quality game to play before next month when AC3 and Hitman release.

bump, though the game has released now >_>. But the price is quite the same on GMG as it was before, so whatever I suppose.

Suspects no one on this board ever even heard of Sleeping Dogs

Both are pretty good games. They're both also completely different.
I'd probably recommend Sleeping Dogs because it has more character development so far and is probably more bang for your buck.

Sorry, I have not played Dishonored for more than an hour or so, but I have Sleeping Dogs and really enjoy it. The melee combat is really fluid and almost identical to the Batman games but with added KUNG POW'ness.
A lot of people don't like the main character, but cliched as he is, I actually warmed to him quite a lot through his sheer good acting. No joke, I found his performance both warm and quite genuine.
Great game, and if you find it on a Steam sale, snap it up.

I haven't played Sleeping Dogs, though I think I would pick it up one of these days when it goes on sale, looks interesting. Dishonored is probably a little more unique, and the setting is more original. I'm quite enjoying it.

I didnt like Sleeping Dogs very much. Played it for 5 hours but then more interesting games came by. Dishonored is more my kind of game

Sleeping Dogs is a good game for console. The controls and mechanics are a very crappy port to PC though. Dishonored does a much better job of making the transition from PC to console, and the control scheme feels more native to PC than sleeping dogs did.
The control issues in Sleeping Dogs were so annoying that it made it difficult for me to enjoy the game at all.

I actually heard that it was exactly the opposite, that it was a really good PC port.
Anyways, plug in a controller and problem solved. A gamepad is basic PC hardware for gamers, and you don't have an excuse for not having one.

Thanks for the advice all. Turns out I'm just going to buy both due to finding a deal on Sleeping Dogs for $17. With Dishonored being about $45 on GMG, that's about the full price of one game for both of these. Sweet deal IMO.
And I do have a 360 controller, which I imagine I'll want to have for one of these games at some point.

Different games, I suggest getting them both.

I tried the sleeping dogs demo on pc and I really didn't like the controls. I know what you mean. I felt like a lot of the key positioning was counter intuitive and there was a lot of latency when I tried it. I'll keep my ps3 copy.

Well, Sleeping Dogs plays brilliantly on my PC with a 360 controller. I tend to always use a controller for sports games and third person ones.

I have both games.
Sleeping dogs is very fun. So is Dishonored.
If I was to give the edge to one game, it would be Dishonored.
Sleeping dogs had some very annoying control issues when in vehicules (with kb/m) foring me to bring out a controller, which is something I never ever do unless forced to.
And overall, Dishonored is just more fun.
So I'd recommened getting Dishonored, just buy the game on greenmangaming, the -25% code (GMG25-EVFWS-4Z4ZN) will still work until tomorow, to get it even cheaper use UK VPN. And if yo uwant you'll be able to get both games for (almost) the price of one there. (and you get a steam key).

Why don't you just use your PS3 controller to play Sleeping Dogs on the PC?

The Sleeping Dogs game was not a good PC port, huge mouse issues etc.
However, after the 1.5 patch which fixed mouse look for vehicles (the biggest issue imo), the game added additional mouse support and its now completely playable with mouse.
The game itself is a good sandbox game (like GTA4). It has minimal fluff repeatable challenge events (compare to prototype which is the same genre), but the game itself shines when it comes to the story. The story is a bit similar to Infernal Affairs ( or any of the movies based on the cop/mole/mob/gang story) so you can pretty much predict the ending. It's still fun and enjoyable however. One thing I wished was that the map of the city was actually similar to HK, as HK itself is completely different (in other words, took away from immersion just knowing that fact).
If you have to choose between games, I would get sleeping dogs first. Even better, get both on sale when they will be on sale later this year during the coming winter break.
