I'm actually a bit frustrated that I'm scouring the entire mission for every gold coin and I was still 1000 short. Granted money isn't important since I'm doing a stealth, no-kill, no-ability run first, but it's kind of frustrating to know I'm missing that much stuff. Is it that a lot of treasure is only available if you possess a rat or something?

i think someone was going to start working on one, but i'm not sure if they actually went through with it. money is actually pretty well hidden, despite being able to see a lot of it through walls with dark vision. also, many guards (and non-hostile npcs) have money on them...

Yeah, I've been pickpocketing basically everyone, and essentially knocking everyone that can spot me out, except for women. ...well.. except for one woman in the second mission who once I save her she walks the hell into some weepers and kills herself, so I knocked her dumb ass out and put her in a safe place.
Anyway, at least this time in mission 2 I only missed 400 but that's still a chunk of change. I really wish I knew where I was missing, because that's like an entire room of treasure.

Did you go get the couple of things in the room where Campbell was before the poisoning?
(From the room where the poisoned wine is, go through the doors where Campbell came from. There a coin on a couch, and a box of cigs or something)
But yea, I agree that a treasure guide would be great, but excessively long/hard because the coins are scattered everywhere.

Possessing rats just provides a quick and easy shortcut to reach areas that would otherwise take more time and effort to sneak into. I don't think there's a single area in the game that can *only* be reached with possessed rats.
