Does Possessing and/or Unpossessing a human alert that human?

Possessing and leaving a person does NOT make him aware and will not deprive you of the post-mission "Ghost" accolade, provided you get away cleanly before he's done vomiting.

I believe de-possessing someone just kills them since it is a full body transfer

Correction: it does make them aware but it will make them vomit so you should have time to either kill them or get away
