Clean Hands Clarification? Kills not clear cut count toward total?

Honestly not sure how you had people fall to their deaths while chasing you (kinda wish I did, that would save me some time and ammo on some missions), but any action taken by you that ends in someone dying whether you meant it to or not generally counts against you, so the best course of action is to avoid being spotted if at all possible. While being chased, a guard ran in front of an officer and got shot to death, which somehow counted against me in the breakdown since I was involved in the fight.
