do you like "leveling" up?

User Rating: 9 | Makai Senki Disgaea PS2
Disgaea is the ultimate game for people who love to build up their character. In fact, you can pretty much level up anything you wanted to. Take the weapons for example, they have their own world of enemies to defeat, and for every “stage” you clear, the weapon will gain a level. Your characters will level up just like in any other RPG’s, but that can also depend on which weapons you equip your characters with. For example, if you equip a sword to a guy who is good with guns, he will not be leveling up the way he was suppose to…so there is lots of technical aspects on how to level up properly. Enough talk about leveling up, now to talk about the game itself. The story is about a king’s son, who is a devil. After the death of the king, new challengers emerge to take the king’s place and Laharl (the king’s son) decides that it’s his job to be the new king, and he sets out on a quest to take out anyone who challenges him. The game’s story is described in “moving” pictures, some of them are funny, and others are just cheesy. Graphics in this game is not all that great, but then again, this game is not about graphics, it’s about game play! One of the best parts about Disgaea is its music department; the voice acting is some of the best for a videogame…haven’t heard this good voice acting since Kingdom Hearts! Music is something that the makers could work on, because most of it is just what you would expect from a traditional RPG. There are plenty of battles to fight in Disgaea, I am almost finished with the game, and I already spent roughly 40 hours behind it. You can easily spend 100 more hours on this game if you plan to level up the characters you use, level up some of your item, fight some of the toughest bosses in the game…you could easily get hooked on this game for months, and this is a must buy for any gamer that has been waiting for another Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre (Ogre Battle series).
